The town was quaint and full of history and character, very narrow streets not good for driving. The Pubs (Ship Inn) was excellent including the food if a bit pricey. The restaurants were excellent (Salamander and Polkirk One )Not cheap but good value for money. Very hilly trying to get out of town centre if you're old or athsmatic.Don't book a hotel up Polkirk Hill it's very steep.

Lovely little village and well worth a visit!
Lovely little village and well worth a visit! It has several really good pubs and restaurants. We’ve only ever been in October but I’m sure it would be lovely during the summer! Driving through the village if you need to get to accommodation up the hill can sometimes be a challenge. Just take it slow and not be in a hurry!

Small fishing port with hourly cruise options and fishing charters.
Various gifts shops, clothes shops, restaurants, cafes, etc.
Access is via narrow roads but there is a lot of parking.
Restaurants are mainly mid and high end with main courses roughly £15.00 upwards. Plenty of fish and chips and burgers, sandwich and pasty shops.
Plenty of great views from harbor and surrounding countryside.

Picturesque harbour village, plenty of places to eat out if you book early, the Salamander was our favourite. Locals are friendly and welcoming. Lovely to walk around very narrow streets. Brilliant little coves and beaches nearby, along coastal path walks.
Everything! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay .
Must mention the fantastic couple who own and run this hotel . They certainly go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one !

Lower Barns is a gem! A lovely setting carefully curated by two wonderful hosts, Janie and Mike. I stayed after walking 7 days on the South West Coast Path and it was a magical spot to relax and absorb the unique beauty of Cornwall.
The room was cozy, vibrant and well accomodated. Loved the giant tub & comfy bed! Breakfast was delicious and the beautiful, unique grounds made for good wandering. Thanks for a wonderful stay -wish I could have stayed longer!!

The home is a 300 yr old mill house located on a narrow lane in Cornwall, close to Truro and St Austell. The property has been fully upgraded to modern standards and reflects the pursuit of quality by the owners, Denise and Vic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unique and beautiful home. Denise and Vic are talented inn keepers and a real joy to get to know.
Loved the location, beautiful view from the room, balcony and breakfast room and only a 5 minute walk into Mevagissey. The breakfast was delicious with lovely fresh locally produced ingredients. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the dolphins from afar, there were even binoculars available in the room 😀
The property is in a good location and within walking distance to the facilities offered in Mevagissey. There are a number of lovely restaurants and pubs. In particular The Ship served great food. The cliff top walks were lovely and gave great views over the harbour .It is a good sized property for a weekend break.
Located right in the heart of Mevagissey. Great accomodation with all the necessary facilities provided washer/dryer, dishwasher etc. Beautiful fishing village with some great restaurants and a great base to explore surrounding part of Cornwall. Loved our stay and would definitely return to The Backlet in future.
Location on edge of Mevagissey, easy to walk into the village. Breakfast was great, with a good choice. Room was very good, with good views. Hosts, Caroline and Mike there if you need them and know all the local information, as well as other areas in Cornwall. Overall, excellent, couldn't be faulted
Room was clean and comfy and spacious enough.
Breakfast was superb, with lots of choice, and the hotel coped brilliantly in the current Covid crisis.
Cheerful and friendly staff
The hotel is well placed for visiting the Roseland coastal area, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The view was stunning, breakfast was absolutely superb the Trevalsa Court Hotel is beautiful, lovely walk down to the beach and nearby to the Mevagissey, which we walked down to and enjoyed.
This is an absolute gem in the South West.
Blue crab is a lovely property in the heart of mevagissey giving easy access to a variety of cafes and restaurants. Its location is perfect for getting to The Eden Project and the lost gardens of Heligan as well as Fowey.
Clean well presented hotel with friendly and helpful owners and staff. It has a nice sun deck with great views across the bay. The breakfast provided, although not traditional cooked, was very nice with lots on choice.
Nice clean bright room with comfortable bed. Great location, 5 minute walk down into the harbour area and about a 8 minute walk back up, it’s fairly steep but not too bad. owners are very friendly.
