It was only a short visit arriving late afternoon and leaving just after 10am the next day. However we enjoyed our evening walk.
We stayed in the same hotel in 2022 and had more time to look around.
- The Catedral de León is a must visit
- The Museo Casa Botines Gaudí has a beautiful facade but we didn't have the opportunity to visit the museum
We also enjoyed having a coffee and croissant breakfast at the Café Bar La Dama next door to the FC Infantas de León we were staying in.

First time in León and really enjoyed the atmosphere.
First time in León and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Drinks and tapas, shopping, exploring ancient Churches and other sites, processions of Semana Santa. Lots of choices of what you may want to do. Definitely want to explore some more, so will make a return trip at some point.

Beautiful city full of history and good eating places.
Beautiful city full of history and good eating places. Specialty of the region was roast suckling pig and lamb. It has an outstanding cathedral, larger than I expected and most beautiful.
The apartment was ample and comfortable, even though it had no air conditioning. It wasn't needed for this time of the year.

León is a great city to visit, with lots of history, numerous tourist attractions and wonderful museums. It's easy to walk around, clean and neat. The Cathedral, Museo / Basilica de San Isidoro (where the Holy Grail is located), Convento de San Marco and Museo de Castille Y León (free admission) are not to be missed. I found the food relatively cheap compared to other cities. Lunch at Ezequiel was a great experience, though it may be a little difficult to get a table at peak hours. Enjoy!

Leon has one of the finest Gothic cathedrals I've seen anywhere. The centre of the city has many bars and restaurants with plenty of choice. The central area is restricted in terms of vehicle access, which is great for safe & peaceful walking around. Although our hotel (The Hospederia Monastica Pax) was within the restricted area, there are arrangements in place to allow hotel guests visiting by car to access the hotel and its private car park.
The hotel whilst only a 3* was actually better than many 4* hotels we stayed in during our 2 week trip to North Spain. The breakfast is certainly worth a mention, it is managed well and the best we had in the 2 weeks. A very wide selection on offer. The historic building is impressive which I suppose sold it for us. The location is perfect. The receptionist friendly and the parking within the grounds was included in the price. The beds were very comfortable and there are extra blankets if needed. I slept very well.
We received a warm welcome to this lovely hotel which is perfectly placed to explore the Old Town of Leon. Our 2nd floor room was comfortable, clean and spacious and had a Juliet balcony looking over the pretty Plaza del Grano. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and breakfast was good. The hotel has 2 parking areas - we found it quite useful to follow the way in on Google street view before we travelled.
We stayed in Leon for one night during our 3-week visit to Spain. In reality it was a stop over after hiking Picos de Europa and before heading to Santiago de Compestela. Very comfortable room with air conditioning. Some nice restaurants within walking distance. We had a car - the hotel offered parking connected with the facility. Super convenient. The breakfast was very good. We recommend this hotel.
Everything! The location is great -- walking distance to every key attraction; in the center of all the action, but on a quiet street. Leon is a treasure -- I've been traveling Spain for fifty-five years, and now Leon is among my favorite cities. And best of all in this pension ... Lupe! She's a gem, always making the extra effort for her guests. Thank you!
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were ok.
It was a great surprise for me to have a long pillow beside the regular pillow on the bed. I always sleep with a long pillow; this was the first time I had one in a hotel.
It was good that it was within walking distance to the city center, 10 minutes by taxi to Leon university and Renfe station.
Clean and well-kept hotel, really comfortable bed, very quiet area at night for those who want to rest and still be within walking distance of the center and the cathedral. And the most important thing is the staff. The amazing Sylvia and Jenny treat the guests kindly, professionally and always with a smile.
Hope to stay there also next time I visit Leon.
Historic building in the old town (follow the hotel’s driving instructions!). You are stepping back in time when you enter the grounds. A great location for exploring that part of the city. The cloister is lovely. Our room was comfortable and very clean. Free parking was a plus (and seems unusual in most of Spain).
Very cozy hotel in the historic center of Leon in front of the Cathedral. The view from the roof window of our room was incredible. The bed and the bed linen were very comfortable. In the room was the control of temperature. The bathroom was enough small, but the shower was strong and hot.
Fantastic location in the centre of Leon on Plaza San Isidoro . We had a landmark view of the Basilica San Isidoro from our room. The hotel offered secure storage for our bicycles .
Breakfast was at Restaurant Boccalino, owned by the hotel - great croissant, juice , coffee..
The hotel is in an excellent location. Miguel and his staff were very welcoming and helped us quickly with how to work the AC. The room was exceptionally comfortable with a lovely patio and everything we needed for a wonderful layover in León while on the Camino.
Juan is truly the King of Leon. The location is great. ONLY negative is not Juans fault. The hostal is located in the middle of everything, so everything is going on and it can get a bit noisy late into the night. But that's Spain, embrace and enjoy!!
We enjoyed some of the best nights sleep we’ve experienced being on the Camino. The hotel was first rate. The staff pleasant and helpful. The included breakfast was wonderful and offered a multitude of choices. Would stay here again.
This hotel was spectacular. The location ideal. The amenities were great. The staff were even better; they went out of their way to make my stay memorable. Best stay on my Camino. I highly recommend this be your hotel in Leon.
We stayed at this hotel for one night on a road trip through Spain. Room 809 was excellent.
Awesome in every aspect I can talk about. Front desk staff members were super friendly and helpful, especially Pedro.
The location of the property is very close to the Leon Cathedral. The property is clean, has kitchen. huge dining and seating area, very quite, each bed has a curtain for privacy, has a locker with key.
