Hotel in Abu Simbel ( 0.8 miles)
Located in Abu Simbel, 3.4 miles from Abu Simbel Temples, Habib Camp provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Everything here is so likeable. The serenity, cold wind from lake Nesseir, peaceful environment, good food, positive vibe, and rustiness that you can have at places run passionately by families and owners like Habib. Loved the campfire by the lake and endless cups of Sudanese coffee prepared by Fufa throughout our stay. The staff really tries hard to make the trip rememberable. This place is for those who want to enjoy Abu Simbel at their pace and not part of fast paced tour group. In our entire Egypt tour, we found Abu Simbel as the most majestic of all so staying here was really worth it.

Located in Abu Simbel, 1.3 miles from Abu Simbel Temples, Applicators Hotel has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Strange, I only saw this one offered after searching a little. Well, the rooms are really nice and big, with attached bathroom and plenty of space, good lights, and a writing desk. Clean, cosy and comfortable. Breakfast is served normally in the basement because the kitchen is there, but you can ask for it on the roof and they will bring. They have good plans for expansion and want to open the cafe on the roof, which is nice and big and has a great view. The people here will do everything for you if you need it, just be patient and explain with translator if you find it hard. All the staff are very kind. I had a lovely 2 night stay and would stay here again

Featuring a garden, restaurant and views of garden, Hllol Hotel is located in Abu Simbel, one mile from Abu Simbel Temples. It was so beautiful. Hand-painted Nubian scenery and designs everywhere, open garden areas to sit and relax. Plants all over. The dinner was exceptional. And the owner of the hotel was present and so kind, very personable and will go above and beyond to be sure you have the best stay possible.
To get to the temples, get a motocycle truck for 10 egyptian pounds per person. In the summer get there early 7.00 am. you will probably be the first person there. Any later and the heat in July kicks-in around 11.00 am ouch and take a hat and a bottle of water.
If you want to stay more time with the great temples, it is worth staying one, or more than one, night in the town. The town is quiet and clean. There are some small lakes (part of Lake Nasser) near the town, so it's pleasant to walk along the road or bridge.
Beautiful temples. Worth also looking into the other temples in the desert such as Aurora, wadi el-sabua anf Dakka. It is also a quiet & peaceful small town worth taking a few days to relax and enjoy the resort
I would recommend to stay at Abu Simbel to spend the night so the temple could be seen, 1st. without the morning crowds, 2nd. at night to enjoy the light and sound show (very good), 3rd. at Sunrise at 6am, having the best picture light.
Must see if you are visiting Egypt. I rate these temples above Pyramids and I have a reason for that. I think Pyramids and other sites in Egypt you will see, admire and appreciate but they won’t stay with you for too long. But Abu Simbel temples will stay with you and will leave an impact not only because of their grandeur but also because of the reason they were built and unprecedented effort it took to save them from being flooded and submerged forever. And despite being so enigmatic themselves, they give you some perspective..It’s been a few days that I have visited these temples but still when I close my eyes l, they appear in front of me…
A must visit historical place with a experience of a lifetime. We visited the sun festival on 22nd February 2024. Though initially we were disappointed with the long queue, the queue moved up easily and we were able to see the rays from 'Ra' shinning on the three statues. While waiting at the queue take time off frrom gazing at the magnificient temple to look east towards the "Ra" rising over the lake. The paintings on the walls are flawless specially more so when you begin to imagine that they were done thousands of years ago. Must visit the nefartari temple. Try the coffee by Lake Nasser.
