Lençóis Maranhenses are located on the eastern coast of Maranhão, and the village of Atins is one of the gateway to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Located in the municipality of Barreirinhas, it is located in the mouth Preguiças River, where its waters converge with the Atlantic Ocean.
