The area itself isn’t fancy at all but the draw is Paestum ruins. The hotel is lovely - very nicely renovated with gorgeous sitting areas and very nice rooms. Great amenities also.
The two downsides were that they have frequent events here it seems, and that can be loud with guests banging doors late at night, music etc. While the breakfast is nice, the offer of eggs was a bit underwhelming. The scrambled eggs seemed like they had been cooked earlier but left to heat under a lamp or in the oven and were hard and rubbery. That was disappointing.
But the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

It was a very short drive to the archeology center and close to several good restaurants. We also enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Breakfast was OK but get there early before the sports team and the people making sandwiches for the beach 😎
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Tenuta Duca Marigliano Boutique Hotel offers accommodations 5 minutes' walk form Pastum's archaeological area, a UNESCO Site.

Only stayed one night, but loved everything about this old property. The seclusion and the pools were a welcome relief after a few go-go days on the Amalfi Coast. Unfortunately the in-house restaurant was closed on the day of our stay, but there were good restaurants down the road. Breakfast was good and the room was comfortable, though it took us a few minutes to sort through the huge number of switches and what they do…this just seems to be a thing with all Italian hotel rooms. That, and not enough hooks to hang things on.

We loved the unexpected beauty, Italian design style and spaciousness of the resort! Of course high on our list was the gourmet food from the restaurant. The location was just right and we walked to a store and restaurant in town. Proximity to the ruins was a plus. Only sad thing was we were so busy all 4 days we did not get to the winery or buffalo farm nearby. Guess we will have to do it again. This hotel was a great bargain!

The Greek temples are great.
The Greek temples are great. Another visitor told us about an app that describes many parts of the archaeological site. The museum across the street is worth visiting, too. We used our CampaniArteCard for tickets, which were issued at the museum for both the museum and the archeological park. There are many restaurants near the archaeology site. Many were open during a festival when we arrived. Only a couple were open on Monday, March 31. The archaeology area is about 1.5 km from residential areas that have groceries.

The archaeological site is very impressive and well worth visiting. The beach area is OK if you like sand, but quite dull. It is not too commercialised. The area inland (particularly the Cilento National Park) is beautiful and well worth a visit. Wish we had had more time to explore.

The park where the Greek ruins are situated is quite isolated, so if you are coming by public transport give yourself plenty of time to get there before dark. There is nothing much around there at night.

Paestum has an AMAZING set of well-preserved ruins, considering they were build some 2,500 years ago! We spent about 3-4 hours there (a little over an hour in the museum, and then a few more hours walking through the ruins. They were amazing to behold. The app downloaded from the museum website (Parco Archeologico di Paestum) was very helpful to learn about the ruins as we walked through them. The kids got rather tired though, so it was good to have a gelato break after leaving the ruins at the nearby cafe.

Topology of the resort:
- beautiful and large pool with lots of flowers and palm trees
- direkt access to the rooms with own parking spot
- very good breakfast (Italian and international style)
- nice beach just a few hundred meters away (could also be reached by bike or car, but really not necessary)
- only about 3km from the ancient excavations of paestum
Very friendly staff
Comfortable, clean rooms in the town of Paestum; friendly hosts; free parking on-site; coffee machine available at all hours, mini-bar in the rooms stocked with drinks for purchase, and nice little braekfast provided before we left; good wifi; great hot shower; you can walk to the beach and into the town
Beautiful property in proper rural Italy. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, one of the housekeeping team (Veliana) even helped us book a mini van for our family. The food was amazing at a very good price. The pool was spotless. We will definitely be back again next year!
Very clean, and comfortable. We had two very nice bedrooms, quiet unit. Host was very accommodating and very kind.
Host provide a lot of pastries, fruit, wine, and water. Location was near restaurants, café and grocery store. We walked to the Temple site as well.
The food here is terrific, some of the best meals we had in Italy. Terrific location for exploring the ruins of Paestum and the beach (only a 10 minute walk). Great value, by far the cheapest lodging we had in southern Italy.
