The location is one the the best in town. I had a rom with the balcony and sea view.
Well, the breakfast food selection is quite limited considering the level of the hotel.

Hotel Solun is very characterful and in a great central location , within walking distance of the canal and main piazza where there are plenty of bars and restaurants . We had the executive suite , which was very spacious and quiet considering that the hotel is on an incredibly busy street . The room was very clean with tea and coffee . We also had access to our Netflix account on the TV. Staff were polite and helpful when asked .

Very nice receptionist even gave me a couple of bandages for my hurt finger. Room was super clean and the bed was very comfy! Hotel excellent location 15 minute walk which is on level ground from the cruise ship to my hotel. If the room was a little bigger I would have been 10 out of 10. For one night was fine. the breakfast buffet is probably the finest I've ever had. The croissants and the pastries were divine. The expresso and cappuccino machine made the best cappuccinos and espresso I ever had out of one machine!

The staff (valentina) was absolutely top-notch – friendly, attentive, and made us feel very well cared for. Despite some lively parties outside, the hotel room was totally quiet, allowing for a restful stay. The air conditioning worked great, and the beds were extremely comfortable.

Near the Slovenian border, Trieste combines the waterside setting of Venice with the elegance of Vienna. The Habsburgs ruled here for over 500 years and built Miramare Castle on a rocky outcrop to the northwest. Their other influences include stately Piazza Unità d’Italia, looking out to sea and spectacularly lit at night.
But this is just a glimpse into Trieste's long and fascinating history. The 1st-century Riccardo Arch hides in a narrow street, and part-way up the hills behind the city center are Roman theater remains, with columns from the Roman forum standing next to San Giusto castle and cathedral.
The most photographed church is Sant’Antonio Nuovo, overlooking a boat-lined canal. The nearby Stock Exchange has a colonnaded façade and its square hosts some of the city’s shops. The most popular cultural attraction is the Revoltella Museum of modern art, while more sobering is Risiera di San Sabba, a former concentration camp near the Palatrieste and Nereo Rocco sports stadiums.
Water sports include windsurfing and kitesurfing from the port which is an important coffee importer. Unsurprisingly, the city’s Viennese-style coffeehouses serve top-quality brews, and the best is reportedly Caffè San Marco, once frequented by famous authors.
Booking.com’s Trieste accommodations include hotels with pools, cheap apartments by the station and B&Bs near Ronchi dei Legionari Airport.

The city is so different from the rest of Italy, with its strong Austrian influence and architecture. It’s truly beautiful. Picturesque sea views and lots of history. The Grotto Gigante is also well worth a visit.

Trieste is a fairly safe city, radically different from traditional Italian cities. It is well laid out geographically, but the streets are very up and down, not all of them going directly down to the sea in a radial system, but winding. For a start you may need a navigator if you are going up from the sea or from the center to the top of the city. The architecture is quite varied, with many places to admire.

My first time to Trieste and I spent 4 weeks there studying. It exceeded my expectations - it's easy to get around, either walking or bus or ferry or getting on a train to neighboring towns. Easy day trip to Ljubjlana in Slovenia. Nice walking trails just outside the city. Lots of interesting museums and cultural activities. And, of course, gelato!

Trieste is a beautiful city on the coast, close to Slovenia and Croatia. It’s small and very walkable with a great cultural and literary heritage and a bustling restaurant and bar scene. It’s possible to take a day trip to Slovenia or even a waterbus across to Muggia or one of the nearby towns. Transport from the airport is easy by train.

We came for 3 nights. It's hard to imagine a better place in Trieste. Great location close to the seaside promenade and not far from the city center. A wonderful, hospitable host. The apartments are spacious and comfortable. The area is very quiet and safe. An additional advantage is the history of this place. The old medical wine factory has been turned into a cozy hotel. There are many objects on site reminding the history of this villa.
A really nice and small boutique hotel in a silent area (residential area and college) of Trieste not far away from the center (1.5 km or 20 min walk to the Piazza Unità d'Italia). Good breakfast and friendly staff. Absolutely to recommend for a stay in Trieste.
The hotel is very nice and located in the heart of trieste. The rooms are spacious and the overall vibe is very sophisticated. Staff is helpful and the warm cookie at the check-in is a nice personal touch.
Location of hotel is fine, but don’t expect any luxury. Rooms were okay, but nothing special. Price is low though, so if you care about that the most, this is a nice place to stay.
