It is not touched by mass tourism, not yet.
It was an Amarcord thing for me, to re-visit the place where I used to live as a student in my twenties.
Lots of changes, I liked the old Swiss style.
Charming restaurants, plenty of café.
Very good but extremely expensive train system, buy your tickets well in advance.

The lakeside walk is beautiful, with Alps on the far side.
The lakeside walk is beautiful, with Alps on the far side. The architecture of the old Town is beautiful. There are grocery stores, pharmacies, gift shops, dress shops, cheese shops, chocolate shops, cafés and restaurants within very easy walking distance everywhere between the lake and the famous Collegiale where Reformer William Farrell once preached. The central Marché is an especially picturesque spot for a coffee or a meal at one of its many cafés. There is a funicular to Chaumont and its charming Petite Hotel which serves excellent food. Next to it is a zip line fun park for kids and playground for littles.
The Neuchâtel museum is worth a visit. 2 lakeside restaurants with outside eating are great: Beau Rivage and Waves. Boats to other towns around the 3 lakes are fun and easy to book.

Breakfast was great. Coffee in rooms was great.
Breakfast was great. Coffee in rooms was great. Sixth floor room/attic was horrible. Can’t stand up in 1/3 of the room, portable AC loud and vented through opening in the roof (let’s hot air in). Terrible room. Other five floors looked lovely. This was not a double. It was a mini double

Hotel near the lake and the museum of fine arts.
Hotel near the lake and the museum of fine arts. Finding a parking place was difficult when we arrived. Having a room just next to the breakfast restaurant is no ideal in the morning. Tourist discounts are useful.

If you like a small town feel without the tourist trap...
If you like a small town feel without the tourist trap feeling than this place is for you. Plenty of places to see and eat. Bus or short train trip will get you around to places including neighboring towns. Beautiful lake, lots of parks for peaceful walks. The saturday market in the center of town is fun to stroll through and stopping into the many specialty shops around town can take days.
Quiet, charming, old fashion hotel.
Room was spacious, no air con but nice temperature at night, enjoying the fresh air coming from the small wood surrounding the property.
20/25 minutes walking distance from the Collegiale and City centre.
Breakfast and wifi were good.
The young lady working at the reception has been very helpful with my requests and sorting out a few small problems in my room.
Particularly appreciated the free bus pass and vouchers provided for museums and lake cruise as everything is so expensive in Switzerland.
Excellent welcome by the staff, we had the impression that they actually enjoyed their job and interacting with us. They were able to lend us an umbrella, which was very useful, and the location of the hotel is very convenient, a few minutes on foot to the center of town. Staying here, you also get a coupon book which grants free access to public transportation and some activities, including a boat tour and the Museum of Natural History.
Location is perfect.
Easy to reach by car, parking place at the hotel, or to a public parking very close to the hotel.
The hotel is in front of the lake and close to the city center. Perfect to enjoy a nice walk around.
The room was very spacious with a lake-view balcony .
Bathroom was big and clean, with a bathtub and a shower.
Staff is very nice and welcoming.
We were very satisfied with our stay in this hotel.
The room was large! It came with a small
Balcony as well. It was clean and the smell was nice in the hotel. Compare with the swiss prices it was cheap and offered a good quality! Im sorry i did not take this hotel last times when i been in Neuchatel, for sure from now on i will return to here if i take visit in Neuchatel. Its very close to the central just a min walk, and close to the trainstation as well. Very nice hotel!
Large comfortable airy apartment which is well equipped. Fantastic view over Lake Neuchatel, with the entire Swiss alps in distant view. (To get the good view you need to climb up to the property from the garage - probably not suitable for people with limited mobility). Regular bus service to Neuchatel, about 50m from the property. Excellent wi-fi speeds. Hosts on site but unobtrusive.
There was a water bowl, dog food and a dog blanket in the room to welcome our dog!
This is the first time we have this and it was really highly appreciated.
Neuchâtel is a very nice spot for a short break. Additionally, a gift card is offered to hotel guests (any hotel) with free or discount activities, including a 1 hour cruise, public transportation or museums entry for example.
The location is great, just next to the lake and promenade. If you are a hotel guest you can park for free in front of the hotel. They give to the guest a parking card. As a hotel guest one can also receive a tourist card to visit museums in the city or use city public transport for free. Nearby there are many restaurants and bars.
What we liked it's just the position in the city center. My suggestions: if you have a lock box for the keys, better if you send a standard message after the booking, because receiving a call in switzerland if you are not swiss is very expensive, and if the communication is not good because of the language it is frustrating.
Hôtel very well located 1 min from the walking area of Neuchatel. Very practical to have small kitchen in the room for basic cooking. The hotel provided us with a pass for 2 to have access to all public transport in Neuchatel during our stay. Staff was really great providing lots of info and available all the time.
The location was beautiful and I had an incredible view of the lake. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming. The bed and room were clean, and the shower was excellent. The hotel is right next to the train station which is extremely convenient.
The location near the train station was super convenient for travel. The hosts who run the place are absolutely wonderful people and were more than happy to help me with questions about tourist attractions in Neuchâtel. Breakfast was also quite nice.
Everything. Returning there for third time. Location, very very clean, super friendly and helpful personell , comfortable beds, nice smell throughout hotel. Plenty of small details that counts and gives you feeling that hotel is run by professionals
The location is excellent, just Infront of the river, the city center and the train station. the breakfast at the hotel is good, all was ok, for a 3-star hotel is really good one. Highly recommend.
Amazing place! Very comfortable, clean, lovely design to feel at home, close to the station, quiet street, impeccable shared bathroom, lovely manager and great breakfast!
