The tax heaven on Switzerland. Quiet nice place to live.
The tax heaven on Switzerland. Quiet nice place to live. For tourism? Give me a break, it's country side. Outdoor activities, walking and enjoying big lake (Zugersee).
But not really a tourist place. If you don't have business to do there, try in example Luzern and for city holidays Zurich.

Zug is very nice and amazing city, located at the beautiful lake Zugersee.
I recommend following restaurants:
Chez Ladur, Juanitos, Puccini, Zeno's and Sihlmatt in Menzingen.
Transport in Zug is easy, but you can reach interesting place in a short time just walking.

My wife and I both enjoyed the lakefront as well as the restaurants that are to be found in that area. The sunset on a clear summer night as one wound look across the water to the alps is among the most beautiful in the world. Located between Zurich and Luzern, Zug provides easy access to both.

This is my birthplace, a tax haven and therefore full of foreign companies who have their postboxes and offices here. You hear more English than Swiss German, but it still has a very Swiss feel about it. Lovely location on the lake, with a small old town, some excellent shops, 2 or 3 nice cafes (one where Audrey Hepburn used to eat Zuger Kirschtorte), and fantastic views onto the Rigi and beyond - the Alps. Lots of opportunities to take walks through fields and forests, go for swims in the lake, excellent public transport. Easy and quick to reach Lucerne, Zurich, Schwyz etc. You can also take the bus up to Unter- and Oberägeri, with a smaller, but very attractive lake, and lovely views over Lake Zug on the way.

Zug is a very cosmopolitan town between Zurich and Luzern, basically a business town but with a lovely old town and beautiful lake, If you have the time, visit Rigi mountain, with spectacular views or take a ferry round the lake and have lunch on the boat.
In winter, take in an ice hokey game or ice skate on the rink outside.

We loved Zug, such a beautiful town with the lake and old city and mountains. Easy to get around, just very expensive for Australians. We would have loved more time there had we been able to afford it.
Very central location in Zug. The area was very safe and clean and a 5 minute walk to the train station. Ten minute walk to the water and old town. Lots of beautiful outdoor spaces. The apartment is laid out in such a way that you don’t see anyone else, even on the terraces. Much more spacious than I expected as well and comfortable beds. It is the owners vacation home which means it is stocked with everything essential and some love!
- the host + staff were very friendly
- the rooms nice , clean and big…much better then hotels
- the breakfast was limited but we could ask for eggs, eat enough bread…
- very ideal to come with small kids ( really a lot of games, toys,…)
- across to a shopping center (other side from the trainrails) so no busy traffic on your side
- close to highway
- with the train you can go directly to zurich, zug,…
The breakfast was excellent, and the settings for the breakfast, both the indoor setting and the patio, were exceptional. In particular, I would like to note the extraordinary service provided by Front Office Manager Henning Bieg who made our stay at both the City Garden Hotel and the ParkHotel Zug a most enjoyable experience.
The breakfast was superb. The best hotel breakfast I've ever had. The smoked salmon, local cheeses, and cured meats were divine. The furnishings and finish of the room was humble and luxurious at the same time. The wooden aesthetic was perfect. Staff was exceptionally friendly.
The standard of the hotel is what I was expecting for a business trip. It is worth the value. Rooms are sufficiently large and clean. Facilities are clean and nicely decorated without being excessive. I was not looking for more.
Throughout the stay the staff were polite, friendly, very helpful and very efficient. Breakfasts (only meal taken in the hotel) were good with a good selection of cereals, fruit and eggs, if you required, all in a lovely room.
The good thing is the people behind the reception counter who own the place, were very nice people.
The place is well located, close to the train station and there is a bus stop very close to the hotel.
Location was perfect in the center of Baar by the train station. Hotel has a nice bar/restaurant at the bottom and the staff was really attentive. The triple rooms were large enough for our family.
location was amazing, 10 second walk to the train, it makes it easy to go around the city at a good price. Also you can find taxi in front of the hotel.
