The room was minimalistic, very comfortable, and clean! I requested something from the cleaning staff, and the lady was not only very nice but also very courteous and not intimidated (which I have seen in other places, and that's an indication of how management treats the staff). There was a shared kitchen area with a coffee machine (paid) and a vending machine for snacks and meals on my floor (3rd). The self-check-in/out with the large-screen machines was simple and very efficient.

The lady at the front desk was the highlight of the hotel. A big thank you for her for making us feel so welcome! Excellent location! The room was clean and comfortable, a little old fashioned and the shower wasn't perfect. But great for the price!

The room was nice — nothing special, but nothing negative to highlight either. Breakfast was good, although it was very busy, and the two staff members in charge were clearly overwhelmed and stressed. The hotel might consider assigning more personnel to help during peak hours.

Room was comfortable, spacious, 7th floor skylight was nice to have during the long evenings of early June. Better than average hotel workout room, and a fabulous pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The best of the Palace Hotel is captured by the staff--very welcoming, very friendly. I want to specifically commend Eline and Erik. Location is perfect for any Tallinn tourist. Bolt and public transportation make getting around easy from the very central Palace Hotel.

FAQs about hotels in Tallinn

From Middle Ages to Modernity

Wander along the narrow cobbled streets of the medieval city of Tallinn and marvel at the fashion forward culture existing comfortably alongside tradition.

The 14th-century church spires wind their way into the sky on top of the Toompea hill which rises in the center of town. Outside the city walls modernity reveals itself through soviet-style concrete buildings and contemporary glass skyscrapers.

A multitude of shopping opportunities are available especially along Viru Street, with several rising Estonian designer boutiques side by side with traditional crafts of woven fabrics, pottery and glass blowing. The café culture abounds and visitors can soak up the friendly atmosphere between purchases. Restaurants on the colorful Raekoja Plats offer a chance to try traditional Estonian fare.

Situated on the Gulf of Finland, a popular day trip is by boat to Helsinki. With a location so close to the water, the sandy beaches are a popular summer destination for locals and visitors alike. In the winter, the beauty of buildings such as the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is hard to beat. With over 60 self-catering apartments and hotels available on Booking.com, you can live like a king in this pretty Estonian capital.

We loved it - while it is becoming rather touristy and expensive by Baltic States standards, it is a magical place with plenty to see, and is far less overcrowded than an equivalent city would be Southern Europe. Its culture is very interesting, and its cuisine unique (albeit with some crossover from other Baltic States) - we had some great food there, by searching out restaurants specialising in local cuisine.

Wonderful place to visit for a long weekend. Went on a trip to the Lahemaa national park, which I would thoroughly recommend. Tallinn itself has great restaurants and a host of things to see. Will definitely go back there.

Tallinn is a very beautiful city but has sold its soul to the gods of tourism. As someone from Edinburgh I know the script! It's difficult to be UNESCO listed and maintain a sense of vibrancy and that is its problem. Day trippers from large ocean liners will love it as they can max it out in one day. We felt the even in two days we were repeating experiences. We were primarily looking for craft beer and were so lucky to have the Õllepood pothouse so near to our hotel. What a fabulous pub and so nice to meet local people. It was so much better than the cheesy German-themed pub we went to earlier. We also ventured outwith the old town to the Põhjala taproom which was also excellent. We struggled to find any other bars though to our taste.

Tallinn is a beautiful city steeped in culture. I loved walking around the city as a solo female tourist, I felt safe and comfortable. I really enjoyed the open air market where I was able to buy the freshest cherries and strawberries. I walked on average 12 km each day there was so much to see and do. The food is wonderful there too, I enjoyed each and every meal and snack, I will definitely return and bring my teenage children who o know will Love it too.,

Fantastic location - very easy to access from the airport using public transport, and less than a minute's stroll into the idyllic Tallinn old town. The hotel is a beautifully preserved historic building with character filled old fashioned rooms, but still offering all the modern essentials one appreciates when travelling.
