The room is small for a double room. Services are too expensive compared to Hotel at Orpington. Though the location is good and the staffs are very excellent
Located just off the M61 motorway, with views over Winter Hill and the West Pennine Moors on the outskirts of Bolton, The Mercury has a lively bar and nightly entertainment.

I am from Bolton, but live overseas. Love the town hall area, but the shops I used to know are not there anymore. Sad to say many major shops gone.
Queen's Park is a lovely place to feed the birds and the squirrels at the pond area. Bought wild bird food from Poundland.
Barrow Bridge and Moss Bank Park also very pleasant to walk through on a sunny day.
The museum is a pleasant and interesting place with a souvenir shop too. Why they had to move the library out of the same building is a mystery to me. Buses usually on time and available during the week and Saturdays.
Good self service laundrettes available which proved helpful when running out of clothes.

It was quite no noise some of the staff need training again with manners to guest, also the girls/lads who clean rooms should be able to acknowledge guest to see if they need anything instead of turning away from them. Other than that nice stay would be nice to speak to staff while staying their communication goes a long way. When been to other hotel spoke to staff had laughs with them.

I visited three venues Cheetham Arms, The Spead Eagle and The Last Drop. Also brunch at Bakers, Edgerton. All had excellent customer service and food in welcoming decorated atmosphere.
Visited Middle Brook shopping centre. An impressive range of retailers.
Travelled as passenger in relatives car. Traffic fairly busy but no hold ups. Would be confident enough to drive solo.
Its in an excellant location, close to the West Pennine Moors. Atmosphere has a lovely friendly local village feel. Plenty of parking and food fantastic. Victoria, pub manager was welcoming and even waited up late for us to arrive last year when we travelled up from London in the evening. We explained we had been caught in traffic and she was lovely about it. Nik even handed out yellow tulips to ladies on Mothers Day. This was the purpose of our visit. To spend Mothers day with my son who lives in Bolton.
The place is spacious. The beds were very, very comfortable. The place has so many things to offer that hotel would never offer. Wash machine, all the necessary dishes and utensils. The dishes are nice, and you will have every kitchen tool that you need, including the bottle opener. There are TVs in every room. The host was very responsive. The location is good, it offers about a 20 minutes walk to the city center but there are some food and grocery store options on the same block.
Very nice hotel, decent food options, staff/manager very friendly and helpful, very chilled atmosphere and good location. Room was nice and quite big. Breakfast was really tasty. A really clean hotel and was really impressed with the upkeep. Natural features from the 1800s when built but also a modern hotel with sports screens music and a variety of beers, wines, spirits & ciders. We would definitely stay again. Also there was definitely a ghost in our room always a bonus!!
The location of the Hotel and facilities met all the needs of me and my friends. We just wanted to go to unwind and rest. Unfortunately, the weather did not permit us to sit in the garden as it was raining. however, on my next visit, I hope to do so.
breakfast was really hot and had a wide variety of choices. The team was always available to assist.
Dinner was really good - it was worth every penny
Parking - just outside the hotel
The location is terrific, with lots of walks from the doorstep. The spa facilities were very nicely kept. The layout of the whole hotel was quirky, with the old buildings and new blending together. The little green spaces between the buildings were all available for guests to use for relaxation. The dog got a warm welcome too.
overall the hotel is one of the best in Bolton. they have everything you need to make your stay comfortable . the hygiene and cleanliness is outstanding like your sleeping in your own room. amazing and this is the only place where i stay when going on a night out or need a place to
Nice pub/hotel. Good location with most of the pubs and bars in Horwich on the same stretch.
Parking limited, but was able to park directly outside ok.
Rooms fine with quite nice views.
Was there for football at Bolton Wanderers - would stay again.
Friendly and helpful staff and a really comfortable bed. The pillows were also comfortable which is not the case in all hotels. The Caesar salad was very good and there are great views over the University of Bolton stadium.
To see the above mentioned dislikes changed or worked on. I informed the receptionist on the day i checked out that whenever I come to Bolton, I would come back and lodge in the hotel.
We loved the location of this hotel, hotel is very nicely set out and our meal in the hotel restaurant was lovely, the fish was beautiful, staff were helpful and friendly.
