We were in the area for a family wedding , so were not sightseeing. I would love to return with a good bike to explore the surrounding countryside.
Lots of local wildlife, and not very hilly for an older cyclist.

I used to live here so only visiting family, unless you are here for the railway heritage there is not a lot to see in the town, but it is like most towns that we visit empty shops a sense of depreciation everywhere.

It's cheap and cheerful. Stayed here numerous times over 7 years and naturally looking a bit 'tired' (aren't we all‽) but basically a nice hotel in a super location. Spacious free car park. Good bus service into the town centre. Tea and coffee making facilities in room and kitchenette available if you bring your own food, although a very decent chain pub/ restaurant literally next door.
As a budget hotel, I would recommend.
Fantastic country house hotel, very close to Darlington. Lovely friendly staff with real attention to detail and personal service.
Great leisure facilities and amazing food. The gentleman’s afternoon tea is a real feast and great value for money.
Lovely hotel in a central location of Darlington. Easy walking distance to all bars and restaurants. Nice room with everything as expected. Staff are fantastic - friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.
I was in Darlington to watch a band at the Darlington Hippodrome. The hotel was in an ideal position for the railway station and the venue. This is the second time I have stayed there.
