We had a lovely stay in the Holiday Express Inn and had a meal/drinks in the local pub The Woodfield Farm (walking distance from the hotel which was great). Shopping day in Frenchgate Shopping Precinct on Sunday before we headed home.

We liked Doncaster but found finding information about both Lakeside and Lakeside village limited. On visiting lakeside Village for the first time we found it very difficult to find a clear route through, access to areas we wanted ended up taking us back out and we ended up driving down a dual carriage way to a roundabout in order to turn and return. Clearer signage would help.
We love the bypasses around Doncaster, easy to access and good signage. We used both Toby carvery, Campanile and McDonald's plus meal deals and snacks from Asda and Tescos and M&S to manage our food needs but there are other options if preferred. There appeared to be regular bus services to and from Doncaster and Lakeside and Lakeside Village shopping areas, and other activities were clearly marked from both bypasses and major intersections for those driving.
Driving at rush hour unless needed, before 8am andafter 9 am was much easier, as was before 4pm and after 6pm.

I really enjoyed my time in Doncaster.
I really enjoyed my time in Doncaster. It has a lot of mining history, beautiful forests & parks to walk in. It has a vibration & character of it's own. i will definitely visit again. Staying in central Doncaster I had access to everything i needed. I loved walking in the Sandall Beat Wood.

Only stayed one night as we were touring and needed a cosy bed . Sadly this was the worst night's sleep of our holiday and both suffered backache in the morning - so would not return here. Shame because location and parking was ideal. Carvery was very good; breakfast was lacking and muddled. No juices, cereals or yoghurts and fruit. Pancakes available, but no maple syrup to add on. was 'ok' but you are just left to get on with it. Felt like no one cared.

My trip was for work, so not much time for sightseeing. I noted that the racecourse is just a couple of minutes from where I was staying, and the Lakeside shopping centres a few minutes more in the opposite direction. I would have liked to visit the air museum but didnt have time

It was a really nice clean hotel and lovely Toby's breakfast. Perfect location as we were visiting Yorkshire Wildlife Park for the day and needed somewhere to stay before driving back home the next day. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area again. My son loved the double sofa bed to himself!
Pleasant stay generally. Staying on a Wednesday in November so streets outside were quiet but I'm guessing would be pretty noisy at the weekend. Only to be expected for a city centre hotel. Good location for theatre i was going to.
Fab location, right in the town centre. Host was easy to contact should you need anything. Has everything you need for a stay away. I’ve stayed here a few times now and it’s my go to when traveling to Doncaster.
location to the racecourse and the view is phenomenal.

brilliant staff.
5 mins in a taxi from the town centre.

top hotel.
would recommend to anyone.
The parking area is very secure, the entrance to the hotel and reception is stunning and the rooms were really spacious and comfortable (the AC worked great too)
