From start to finish our stay was wonderful. We were given the warmest welcome and shown to our spotless stylish room. Everything is so organised from the breakfasts to the hot tub schedule. The hot tub is fantastic with picturesque views. The breakfast is delicious with lots to choose from and the complimentary cake is such a lovely touch. We will be recommending it to everyone.

By far the best hotel I have stayed at, it was beyond my expectations.
The building itself is elegant whilst keeping the original features and charm.
The rooms were like apartments huge, the front of house staff and chef went above and beyond even gave our pooch a sausage for breakfast and lots of fuss.
The food on the evening and breakfast was plenty, delicious and lots of choice.
Loved this place and will definitely be back again.

Small village, but great access to the edge of the lakes, the sea and public footpaths. Coming back to Gosforth Hall is a treat in store, especially if you’ve booked a table for dinner. It’s very popular!

We enjoyed our stay at the Kellbank Hotel, but unfortunately, the village of Gosforth left something to be desired. While there was a shop available, they were unable to provide us with fresh sandwiches. As a result, we had to drive up to three miles in order to obtain them before embarking on our climb up Scafell Pike.

I was pleasantly surprised by this village or little town.
I was pleasantly surprised by this village or little town. I loved the warmth and homeliness of the red stone vernacular architecture - cottages, farmhouses and barns. The churchyard is not to be missed (the church itself was closed, unfortunately) nor is Gosforth Hall Hotel. I was in Gosforth on a Sunday evening, the worst time to find anywhere open for food with the added complication that I follow a strict vegan diet. I was amazed, therefore, to find that the Budgen's store also has a pizzeria but, sadly, the vegan pizza option was not available. There was another pizza place, a bakery and a cafe, all closed during my visit. There are 2 town centre pubs and a free public car park.

For a small place they cater very well for visitors, the food we had when we went out to eat was excellent (The Lion and the Lamb) and not stupid money either. Gosforth has been catering for climbers, hikers etc for years and years and they have got it right. Before I forget there was free parking there with a donation box only, where in Britain will you find that, well done Gosforth.

Cosy and comfortable lounge and bedrooms. Enough logs etc for a fire on one evening if wanted.
Nice to have the option to order Caribbean food but really tasty food available in the village. We ate at the Italian which was superb. Sunday, we had amazing pies at Gosforth Hall and on the last evening we went next door which has an extensive menu some of which is homemade.
Quaint, cosy cottage, next door to the farmhouse. Fantastic vista out of the front door- rolling hills/mountains. Walks from the doorstep and just a short drive into Gosforth village. Plenty of places to eat. We ordered take away pizzas from Wild Olive and they were lovely.
Also a short drive to Scafell Pike if you fancy climbing England’s highest mountain!
The location was brilliant, near to the West Lakes, the beach, and a lovely forest. And Gosforth centre to walk down to. Very well-kept, old property with modern yet sympathetic upgrades. The beer garden is large and there was a band on too. Great people and staff and lovely food.
The hotel was lovely and warm and comfortable. Although the room was basic, the room had everything you needed and an excellent shower. It was mostly clean and good value for what we paid for the stay.
