The Birch Hotel, hotel in Haywards Heath

Located in the peaceful West Sussex town of Haywards Heath, The Birch Hotel features a courtyard restaurant and is located just 13 miles from Brighton’s bustling city center.

Nice hotel, architecture was very impressive as it's an old building. It has been modernized at some stage, but that could do with updating again. Staff were great and very welcoming.

The Jolly Sportsman, hotel in Haywards Heath

Located in Lewes, 8.9 miles from Glyndebourne Opera House, The Jolly Sportsman has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

This is an absolutely charming pub/restaurant in the middle of the Sussex countryside with a few rooms. All around are lovely walks and views, and it is only a shortish drive (albeit down very narrow country lanes) from Lewes, Hove, and Brighton. Our room was very comfortable with a splendid bathroom, and lovely view. We ate dinner on Saturday night and it was inventive and delicious cuisine using a lot of local ingredients. Highly recommended, not least because the owners and staff are particularly friendly.

I was basically just passing through on the way further south so unable to give just comment on Haywards Heath in any detail. Generally it seemed friendly and village like. It was a good place to recuperate from a long train journey before onward to my intended destination.

Haywards Heath is a small modern town with easy commuting to London and Brighton. There are a good range of shops, including a decent Marks and Spencers an excellent Waitrose, Sainsburies, Tesco etc. Also a good range of pubs, restaurants and cafes. It’s small enough to walk around the town, but there are buses and the railway station is well connected. Parking is moderately expensive. There is a small but modern Hospital with an emergency room. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with the South Downs visible from the town.

I have been using this hotel for the last 3 years, its a 15-20 min walk from where my Son & Daughter-in-law live. Its dog friendly, as we have 2 dogs and it's only a 20-30 min walk into Haywards Heath Town centre, where there are great shops, cafes and a great micro brewery, which is very friendly. We have had breakfast there, which is brilliant with loads of choices, if we let them we are having breakfast they set us a table in their sitting room next to the restaurant as we can sit with the dogs. Staff are lovely, very friendly. We are looking forward to our next in 2024.

We popped into town but think we weren't at the main part with the shops. We had a great meal and service at the nearby Harvester, Area nearby is very pretty but you would need to investigate places to visit if you were touring, not much to do We stayed specifically for a cheese and wine tour of the Bluebell Vineyard 15 mins away, but public transport was not available to the venue so ended up driving anyway

Had business in Haywards Heath so booked just one night. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and spacious the room was. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was very good with loads of choice. We did get a message from Booking.com informing us that only continental breakfast was being served but ignore this we had a full English, but be warned if you upgrade to the large breakfast, they do mean large it is a proper plate full and very tasty

I have been using thBirch Hotel for the last 3-4 years, as my Son moved to Haywards Heath and the Birch is actually around 10-15 mins walk from where my Son lives plus the bonus that they allow dogs as I have 2 medium size ones. It is only around 20-25 mins to walk into the centre, which has a great range of cafes, bars and shops. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Haywards Heath.😁
