Being a solo traveller I had a very small room. But it was lovely and met my short term needs. Great location. Lovely place to stop. Very friendly. Nice food.

Luxury in the lakes, large room, comfy bed and lots of hot water for bathing tired limbs. Fantastic food and attentive friendly staff. We felt really spoiled and looked after. The view from the dining room was fantastic too. We sat in the garden in mild October and enjoyed the views after our days walking.

Keswick is the larger, more touristy town in the Northern Lakes. There's plenty of things to see and do there (The Pencil Museum is surprisingly interesting). I was staying in Braithwaite, which is much quieter, but I preferred this. Braithwaite had some great places to eat, and the walks from there were fantastic. I walked from there up Cat Bells and back in a day (about 15km). That was a beautiful walk, and one of many that I had while I was there.

Keswick is a lovely place to visit.
Keswick is a lovely place to visit. Our hotel was right on the square so everything was within easy reach. Plenty of places to eat at night so you are not restricted to the hotel menu. Pubs and staff were very friendly to us. One of the days during our stay was Market Day, so we enjoyed looking at all the stalls and tasting all the lovely local food samples. Lovely shops, which are a bit pricey, but when you are on your holidays it is nice to browse and choose a few bits to take home. Keswick is central to going to other towns within the Lake District. We had an enjoyable trip.

I’ve come to Keswick for 53 years and I feel just as sad to be leaving to go home as I did in 1972 at the age of 9 . I will keep coming to Keswick until the day I die. My favorite place , ( love it ) x 1,000,000 !!!

Getting around is very easy.
Getting around is very easy. So many places to visit for hiking. We did Catbells and Dodd Woods. We also walked around the nearby lake and visited The Lakes Distillery, which has a tour and nice restaurant. We went to the Theatre by the Lake area. You can take a boat ride from there. We enjoyed walking around the lake and going to Friars Crag. Very nice surrounding towns to visit - Grasmere, Windemere, etc. Would definitely return to this area. It's so beautiful!

Excellent place to stay in Keswick. Lovely room, very clean and comfortable bed, me and my husband both slept very well. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is delicious. Nice quiet street but very quick to walk into the town centre. I easily found a place to park my car on the street outside. Thoughtful extras provided by the owners such as homemade cakes and fresh milk available for cups of tea in your room. I would highly recommend!
Although the room was not en-suite, it might as well have been. The Shower and toilet was next door and exclusively for use of that room. Shower was lovely and hot and bathroom had a huge towel rail that was great for drying off wet clothing. Breakfast was fantastic and location was a 20 minute walk to Keswick town centre, although if raining not ideal. The was a pub within 200 yards of hotel.
Greta location just outside Keswick town centre. Far enough out to be peaceful and quiet but close enough for a short walk into town. We've stayed here a number of times and always enjoyed our time at the hotel. Excellent buffy style breakfast with enough choice to suit all. Comfortable rooms decorated to a decent standard. Friendly and attentive staff.
Staff were helpful and friendly. We asked if we could have breakfast slightly early and they were happy to help. Breakfast was very nice. Hotel has a pleasingly old-fashioned vibe about it.
Very convenient for town centre which is a short walk away, yet still quiet at night.
Very convenient location - next to the stunning Hope Park, town centre of Keswick and also to the Derwentwater Lake, allowing easy access to do a walk around the lake.
