The Grove, hotel in Watford

Boasting sumptuous rooms with 42-inch plasma-screen TVs and Bose iPod docks, The Grove is set within 300 acres of beautiful parkland.

I stayed here mainly for convenience because it’s located just ten minutes from the Warner Bros. Studio Tour where they shot all the Harry Potter movies. While the resort has some impressive amenities, I did encounter a few setbacks. Upon arrival I waited a little over twenty minutes for my room to be ready. The front desk staff seemed a bit formal and less welcoming than I expected. This was despite numerous texts and calls letting them know exactly when I would be arriving. The fitness center was also challenging – hard to find, with a lengthy walk and a somewhat cumbersome entry process, which limited my motivation to return after one visit. Breakfast at “The Glass House” was a standout, with an extensive buffet, offering nearly anything you could want. However, the bustling atmosphere with businesspeople gave it more of a city “power breakfast” feel than a relaxed resort vibe. All in all, The Grove has a lot to offer, but some of the difficulties tempered my overall experience.

Walton Suites, hotel in Watford

Walton Suites is located in Watford, within one mile of Watford Junction and 6.4 miles of Harrow-on-the-Hill Tube Station.

The suite itself was immaculate, spacious, and beautifully designed, offering all the modern amenities I could ask for. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had some of the best nights’ sleep. I also appreciated the small touches, like the fully equipped kitchenette and high-quality toiletries, which made the stay feel both comfortable and homey. Overall, Walton Suites exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and seamless stay.

We came for the Harry Potter tour but had a night to do what we like. we went to a restaurant called Il Pellegrino and the food was banging 👌 and also have a few drinks if that's what you're interested in there's seems to be plenty of choice. Not sure about other things as we're only there for one night. But it's a decent place.

The town of Watford is a great area to stay if you want to be away from the large city. Watford Junction is so easy to catch train into London. Watford is a very walkable city. Plenty of restaurants and bars. The street market is wonderful.

From being able to check in early to leaving with smiles on our faces our stay at the Watford holiday Inn was fantastic, the staff were very friendly and always there to help, the food was great especially the fish chips we had in the evening, the best I've tasted not from a proper chippy, I'd 100% recommend this holiday inn and I suspect every other holiday inn are the same, when I go on another trip the first place I am going to look to stay at is the holiday Inn, you lot have won me over.

We went to Watford purely for a family visit as this is where we used to live. It was great to go back and revisit some of our old favourite places and acted as a good base for us to travel out to other surrounding locations. I would however not recommend for a holiday destination as the main town centre has very few shops etc or much to see. Great location for train line into London etc.
