FAQs about hotels in Nuuk

The people of Nuuk are very friendly and welcoming.

The people of Nuuk are very friendly and welcoming. It is important to note that when you visit Nuuk, having an open mind and open heart is important - locals appreciate efforts to learn and use the local Kalaallisut language. Even a simple "Qujanaq" goes a long way! Nuuk itself is often seen as a gateway to going on excursions to see ice fjords, glaciers, and the surrounding natural beauty of Greenland, but the city itself is also rich in history and culture and spending at least a day or two inside the city to learn about the Greenlandic people and their culture is a must. For those who are physically active, getting around the city by walking is the best way to explore; however, the city also has an excellent bus system and taxis that are readily available for getting around with ease. Worth noting is that in addition to the typical tourist attractions, such as the National Museum, boat tours into the fjord, and dining experiences, the city of Nuuk also has an Art Museum and a workshop called Kittat where Inuit women work on traditional embroidery that is used by local community. Visiting Nuuk is not easy or cheap, but coming here and getting to know this part of Greenland and the people who live here is well worth the journey!

Nuuk grew on me over the 4 days that I spent there.

Nuuk grew on me over the 4 days that I spent there. I either walked around the city or took public buses. I thoroughly enjoyed the board walk, wandering around old Nuuk, the walk to and around Circus lake, the environs of the University of Greenland, and always beginning and ending the day around the Centre of Nuuk. It was a pleasure getting to know the city through its inhabitants, all of whom, were always forthcoming with advice and suggestions.

Nuuk was much like expected but with some spectauclar views over the mountains and fjords. The local nightlife was limited but very well attended and good fun to be with. With both food and souvenir shops anlong with cafe's close-by, I really enjoyed my visit, especially the boat ride up the fjord and getting close to icebergs!

A very exotic and interesting destination, a combination of the far north, Inuit culture and Danish influence. Cafe Esmeralda with an affordable and delicious breakfast/brunch, a good Thai restaurant Charoen Porn right next door, a brewery and Daddys Pub were our favorite places.

I stayed in Nuuk in my first visit to Greenland.

I stayed in Nuuk in my first visit to Greenland. There is a lot of history with every footsteep. I visited these museum; Nuutoqaq or Katersugaasivik Nuutoqaq / Nuuk Lokalmuseum and Nunatta Katersugaasiva Allagaateqarfialu, I also attended mass in these churches Hans Egedes Kirke and Annaassisitta Oqaluffia. Kittat is very interesting shop/workplace with national customes. Most places in Nuuk are within walking distance. I only stayed in Nuuk but it would have been top on the ice to fly one day to Ilulissat where hotel stay is not in too much demand over Christmas.

The location of the hotel is too far away, the surrounding stone mountain is under construction, there are no restaurants in the vicinity of 200 meters, far away from the large shopping center NC, and the house is very beautiful near the sea

Nice, friendly hotel. Restaurant is reasonably priced for Greenland. Rooms are nice and reasonably sized. Nice mountain views. We got stuck here longer than planned when our flight was cancelled and staff were pretty helpful.
