The old town is fantastic but once the cruise ships come in it impossible to move around or see anything in peace. There are too many people allowed to visit. Everything was clean and bright and the town was much more sophisticated than I imagined. It was pretty busy, especially in the evening but there were lots of shops, bars, cafes and reataurants. We went mid July so we probably missed the busiest time but we had am excellent visit for two days. We visited both forts and the excellentent museum of Asian art. Didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised. Has a very Venetian / Italian feel to it. Felt like I was wondering through an Italian city. Very cool buildings / architecture and lots going on. Vibey in the night time with lots of bars and restaurants and beaches to swim at as well. We stayed in Corfu Town for 2 nights before heading to Paxos, as we wanted to relax and soak up the Greek atmosphere before our quieter island escape. Corfu Town was perfect for this — lively but charming, with beautiful architecture, great food, and a real local buzz.
