A super location for a stay near Motovun. Nena is an exceptional host who kindly took our bikes in and locked them away in the garage. She took us to the village in her car which is a 25 min walk up the road. She also made us coffee and pastry breakfast.

This apartment is in a beautiful location if you’d like to unwind after a long day of seeing Motovun. My partner and I biked to Motovun, then checked in around 7 pm, and left in the morning via the Parenzana (additional perk that the path is right by). The apartment is a bit far from Motovun by foot, took us approximately 15 minute by bike (and that was going downhill). We didn’t stay long in the morning and did not get to experience the complimentary breakfast that many other reviews referred to. The apartment did have an electric kettle (but no instant coffee) and a mini fridge. Everything was very clean and we loved sitting in the backyard, watching the stars.

Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and truffles. One can enjoy just a stroll through the town and views of surroundings for an hour, can have a great dining experience or stay for days and explore Istria, one of the prettiest and welcoming places on earth. "Medieval" and "hill-top" also mean that you walk a lot on rugged cobblestone, you walk uphill and climb stairs, and "great place" means it's crowded in the high season (summer). Still, one of the better places to escape to from crowded coastal towns, focused primarily on visitors' wallets.

A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore.
A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore. Be sure to visit the cathedral (opened about 10 during our visit) and (carefully) climb the bell tower for a spectacular view of the valley and beyond. We visited in late October when some businesses had closed for the season and others were winding down. We would visit again in September.

Great location in old town.
Great location in old town. Wonderful people and amazing views from the walls and restaurants. Wine and truffle country and free samples were almost too much. Lol
Tiny and hilly old stone streets within a walled city oozing with history.
Our host was gracious, laid back and a pleasure to just chat with.
We would highly recommend.

It's a spectacular location on a hilltop with amazing views all-round of mountainous country including vineyards & olive groves. Delicious and reasonably-priced restaurants at the very top, friendly people, tons of charm. Nearby are several vineyards & the local wines are very nice, and affordable. Easy day trips to Pula, Rovinj, Buzet & others.

This was my first time in Istria.
This was my first time in Istria. We checked out Kozlovic winery, we sampled their delicious wine and had a tour. View is spectacular. Had dinner in Motovun, tried gnocchi with truffles, very tasty! Pictures of the amazing views do not do it justice. Will definitely visit again!

Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria.
Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria. I really liked it. The prices at restaurants in general in comparison to offer are a bit limited. However we managed to find something for ourselves at the end. We missed bakeries. We did not find single one so we travelled to Pazin on our way back home and found amazing bakery.
Perhaps tourism board should create a special list with all possible places providing food and menu of same, all in one place saves from walking especially if one has slight walking disabilities.
Everything else is lovely and look forward returning to Istria
I was staying with my partner and a friend. We loved that we could get the apartment, not just two hotel rooms. The host was super nice, communicated with us and told us where to park the car. This apartment is located close to the parking, not on the very top of Motovun, but it has wonderful views from the windows. It is fully equipped, and he even left milk for us in the fridge. The building is old, but the apartment is very comfy. The bathroom felt very warm and homey.
The staff was wonderful. Motovun is a walled town that is car free. The hotel staff direct you to a parking area outside the old city walls and take you then up the steep hill to the hotel. The hotel patio had a wonderful view of the countryside. Steps away from the hotel, there are restaurants. We ate at one restaurant with beautiful views.
In addition, we really liked the hotel's breakfast offerings. Many choices! We especially enjoyed the omelets with truffles.
This hotel was fantastic from booking to leaving. We ran into their driver at the bottom of the hill once we arrived and he gave us fantastic detail on where to park and then picked us up (thank goodness we did not have to walk with our bags) and took us straight up to the hotel at the top of the hill. It’s a very quaint hotel and our room was clean and spacious with a large terrace. It is close to everything and everyone we encountered were very kind and helpful.
We spent a day here. We asked for a quiet room, and this was fully met. The room is spacious and tastefully decorated. We had a large terrace and an enclosed parking area in the courtyard. Motovun town centre is a 20 minute walk, but we drove due to the large difference in levels. The town is beautiful, one of the most beautiful in Istria. On our departure Nena offered us coffee and tea. We would definitely like to come back.
The house is very spacious, at a great location, 10m above the road. The parking is 50m away at a public parking along the road. The owner paid for the parking during the stay. The view on the valley is beautiful, the kitchen is fully equipped, we used the air conditioning for heating in the evening. We were cycling along Parenzano and Motovun is a good starting/end point.
If you come by car you can park at parking zone 1 behind the cemetery on top of the hill motovun is located on. When you call the hotel they will come and pick you up for the next few hunderd meters. Room was nice and comfortable. Staff very welcoming. Breakfast also very good (they will even make you srambled eggs with truffel sauce).
Landlord Nena is very friendly and approachable. Room and facilities are clean and comfortable. Location is great, Motovun is in the walking distance from the house, about 20 minutes by foot. View from the terrace is amazing. Good value for money.
This was a lovely place to stay for one night in Motovun. It was clean, cute and super quiet. We were offered welcome drinks on our own balcony and breakfast (available for extra charge) was also served there.
Superb location, terrace and view makes this property one of a kind in Motovun. Bed is super comfy, bathroom super clean and kitchen well equipped. We can't wait to visit this place again.
Staying at this hotel, we received the best service in all of Croatia. The owner saw that we were tired from the road and fed us a huge sandwich. We will definitely come back here again!
Loved the property - the owner was wonderful. Just know that if you stay in Motovun (which you should) there is a LOT of walking - stairs, inclines, cobblestones, etc.
Rich breakfast buffet, comfy beds, excellent staff, great sauna. 15-minute walk to the old city centre, view from the hotel, restaurant and sauna is amazing.
