Some of the hotels are newer and nicer but they have different price range so do your research first before booking a room. The beach if it's raining it will be not pretty because of the rubbish on the beach but still it's a beach that you can walk to though.
Nice to stop at the Treasure Island Resort after your walk in the beach for a couple of drinks or have a dinner there. Beware of tricycle drivers who are overpricing their rates whenever you go out. You can just walk going to the main road it's an exercise and good for the health.

After the Americans left, Subic Bay Freeport Zone was left to the locals to maintain - So you can guess what state it's in!
Over recent years there has been investment, but the whole place is overrated and the beaches grey, dirty and cheap.
There's lots of prostitution present, and hundreds of sex tourists in the Barrio Baretto area - Perhaps local government prefers Cash over Morals...
The main Harbour Port Mall is nice, although it is designed for those with money, and not the majority of poorer locals.
There are MANY fantastic beaches and resorts around the Philippines, Subic Bay & Olongapo doesn't have ANY of international standard!! Also, it's cheaper to buy on Amazon and get stuff delivered to the Philippines than shop in the "Duty Free" stores in Subic, as the prices are a RIP OFF!

Went to Dive the wrecks in Subic Bay through Mangos..
Went to Dive the wrecks in Subic Bay through Mangos.. Although vis was not the best, there were some interesting wreck diving and Mangos is a good place to dive from. Good management, staff and equipment was up to par for renting. The other aspect is that is not known for its diving so each site was quite.. only once did a another dive company swim through our dive party..
As the diving took most of the day we did not get a chance to see much of Olongapo.

Terrible raw bleeding chicken adobo served at new Kongs inn restaurant.
Excellent trip by the taxi driver who took us to view wild monkeys and giant flying fox bats perched in the trees.
Stayed at New Kongs but after returning 12 days later, the food at the restaurant went from best adobo in the area to the worst adobo I ever tasted. After returning to stay again at New Kongs, the restaurant Kongs served us raw bleeding chicken adobo that was obviously microwaved. We sent it back and the sauce was only gravy not adobo sauce with no soy sauce and no peppercorns. After sending the food back we waiting and waited to only received over cooked rubbery chicken from a microwave. Very poor quality adobo chicken at Kongs! Horrible food

too bad we didn't have a change to look around the city because it is heavily raining during our stay. We checkin one of the Hotels in Baloy Beach Resort & all i can say is that i think the hotels in the Baloy Area is a subdivision. because we paid an entrance fee. 100/person. and also Olongapo has a two colors of their jeepney. blue for travelling i think to the beach? and yellow one around the city.

The staff is ameable! However I expected that the propris beside the beach! However there is no beach outlet from the hotel! We had the chance to go to the beach but the beach I'd full of garbage!
I think it is the best Hotel in Subic, if you are looking for a place to go with the family. The staff is friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are good and their prices are okay.
