The hostess was extremely helpful, 100/10. We had an accident on the island, she helped us a lot, came to the place where accident happened, helped me to get to the hospidal, sat with us for 3 hrs, ordered a lift back. Amazing treatment. All the people on the island were friendly, right next to the Simple there's a sweet cafe with amazing food and very sweet lady keeping it. The housing is, as the name reveals, very simple, but had everything we needed. Would recommend. The wifi worked better than the places we were on Bkk oh Phuket. We even had breakfast included, but we slept into that.

The hostel was gorgeous and the owners were amazing. They are so kind and gave me fruit and a necklace as a thank you present. They also gave me a free lift to the pier which was a kind gesture as I had left organising my transfer a little late. Don’t expect this of course but they are just wonderful people.

Lovely staff, comfortable and quiet room, great breakfast, and some of the nicest cats and local animals! A little piece of paradise close to the main pier and the Market. I also liked the large main pool, and the general landscaping (though they were doing repairs and maintenance at the time).

Couldn't have asked for a better location. Mere steps from the beach that was pretty much empty every time I stepped foot on it. The owner was lovely and always greeted me with a smile whenever I saw her. She was very helpful in renting me a bike to explore the island and pointed me toward the closest ATM when I needed it.

- Amaleena and her husband are amazing and super friendly people. The also helped us to organize tours and to adjust bicycles you can rent there, offered nice Thai desserts and cold water every morning
- The location is close to both beach and a bunch of really good restaurants, bars and a couple of massage booths; we managed to check more than a half of the island by bicycle from there
- The bungalows are equipped with everything one could need; they are clean and relatively new; if you need the room to be cleaned every day, you have to tell it to Amaleena

A beautiful hidden island apart from tourists with good food and kind and helpful local people. Beaches are not the best or most beautiful, (you should now), but if you look for a calm, quiet place and lower revolutions, koh Yao is the place. There are also rice fields and the food is very tasty and the prices are good. You can also get to other islands from there :)

You’ll really enjoy it if you like a combination of luxury...
You’ll really enjoy it if you like a combination of luxury meets real world. There is accomodation at every level from homestay to luxury villas. The same is true of the restaurants, from flat tops and old chairs on the beach to up market dining with candlelit beach views. Tourism really supports the local economy here so get out and see the whole island. We stayed at Coastal Escape (fancy) and previously at Laguna Villas (mid-price, great value and central). Places to eat - Sai (drinks/dinner), Green Coffee House (lunch), Sabai Corner (drinks in the treehouse bar), Bai Tong (dinner/drinks on the beach), Honey Grilled Chicken (flat-top on beach near Pasai). Also Ringside Diner is good for a drink and a meal at sunset (aka Sundowner, yes it’s a Muay Thai gym, they are lovely). Back on the west side you must try Kindee (next to the roundabout). Hire a scooter with side car to explore or take a bicycle. You can ride the island loop in 1-2 hours. Definitely hire a long boat and go to Hong Island to swim, snorkel, and walk up to the summit. Or go to James Bond Island (aka IG island if you can’t help yourself).

Overall the island is really lovely.
Overall the island is really lovely. It isn't as crowded and just a really good place to calm down. The only thing we didn't like was that you couldn't really swim cause the water was crowded with jellyfish and every time we tried to go in in left with a bunch of stings.

The island is very easy to get to.
Very serene and calm and a relaxing holiday escape. The island has everything you need
We mostly stayed near our accommodation but you can rent bikes/scooters/sidecars from almost anywhere. There is a local taxi service that can take you around the place also.
Bring cash. Th island has limited ATMs and most places only accept cash.

This is a lovely little island with a full range of accommodation choices and loads of wildlife to see. The bathing is difficult only because at low tide it is muddy and rocky on most beaches. Just pick high tide to swim. Lovely people. Cycling is a very good way to get round.

Very calm, peaceful and relaxing!
Very calm, peaceful and relaxing! If you want to get away from society, noise, civilization and tourists, this is your place! Beaches are not the best but they are clean and empty. The most exciting thing to do in this Island is kayaking to Nok Island (30min) and once you arrive hike the trial to the top for the amazing view! One of the best we had in our whole trip in Thailand. Also, renting a scooter and discovering the island by motorbike, stopping in each beach. So safe and relaxed. I recommend to stop by Stella's restaurant for eating o for a smoothie, super home made food and good price and views by the beach. For sunset, either Sunset bar or Hiddenout beach. Perfect place for getting away from noise but not if you want to party and meet people.

It was the best room we have ever stayed in. We had the sea view room, which looked even better than the pictures. The view from both the room and the pool was incredible. It was very private.
Although the food and drink prices at the resort were high for Thailand, we didn't find them any worse than in Phuket.
Kayaking around the nearby islands was really great, and very secluded.
The Private Pool Villas are great and the Hotel Staff is very helpful with booking Trips or renting a motorbike. We stayed one night longer than originally booked because we loved both, the Resort and the Island. We recommend the Pool Villa (if available). Compared to the Deluxe Rooms everything is newer and cleaner (we stayed at both options).
The location was wonderful, the view from the beach fabulous. Not a beach for swimming, but the pool made up for this. The staff friendly and kind. The food in the restaurant good. The island Truly breathtaking, and the 4 island tour, book it from the hotel, local and we had a long tail boat to ourselves
I feel so sorry for the owner work so hard to earn so small money . everywhere very clean, bed is very comfortable.people all very nice.it is very good experience stay at cheap hotel get high values treated.
