Boasting pool with a view and views of mountain, Alqueiturismo - Casas de Campo is a holiday park set in a historic building in Guarda, 12 km from Guarda Cathedral. Everything here is superb. Our unit was on 2 floors - all spotless. Far more space than we needed. Wonderful gardens with a large pool. Parking right outside our apartment. The property is secure with gated access. Gorgeous views all round. A really lovely place. Highly recommend We ate at a super local restaurant called “Ponto de Encontro”. 3 courses for 2 people plus drinks and all for €37. A great stopover and only sorry it was just for one night

Featuring an infinity pool and views of pool, TheVagar Countryhouse is a recently renovated country house located in Belmonte, 42 km from Parque Natural Serra da Estrela. Marta and her team were such great hosts. They were patient, gracious, attentive and very generous. They helped us with our rental car issues and followed through (even after checking out) just to make sure we were alright and had reached our destination safely. We are so thankful for their generosity and kindness. The property was also gorgeous to say the least. Every detail was meticulously yet subtlely well thought out. We had the most comfortable stay and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The view from our room was to die for. Needless to say, our experience was nothing short of amazing. Once again, kudos and obrigada to Marta and team.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Casa Moiano is a country house set in a historic building in Oliveira do Hospital, 47 km from Parque Natural Serra da Estrela. Located in perfect place. The house is well decorated with all the facilities you need. Hugo and his mother are very welcoming and the breakfast Hugo’s mom made was excellent especially the homemade cake.

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Quinta Chão da Bispa is set in Oliveira do Hospital. It was awesome and perfect i could not have imagined anything more good. Privacy, cleanliness, huge space, its very beautiful, everything was outstanding and the most amazing host. The host was so humble polite and cooperative. I will highly recommend this place and will surely visit again.

Situated just 39 km from Belmonte Calvário Chapel, Unhais Valley - Country House offers accommodation in Unhais da Serra with access to free bikes, a garden, as well as a 24-hour front desk. Quiet place to energize yourself with an amazing view, reading a good book next to the fireplace. Clean, cozy, and excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff.

Offering a garden and garden view, Solar da Castanha - Forest House is set in Manteigas, 21 km from Parque Natural Serra da Estrela and 4.5 km from Manteigas Hot Springs. The location was absolutely beautiful. A perfect base to explore the mountains and walk the marked hiking trails in the area. The host, Pedro, was very communicative prior to check in and when we arrived he spent a lot of time explaining where we could go/ what we could do. His parents who were hosting throughout our stay were so lovely and couldn’t do any more for us. They made the experience extremely relaxing and memorable. Particularly loved the view for breakfast, the hammock in the evening and the friendly cat :) I would recommend this stay to anyone looking to relax, unwind, and do some hiking.

Providing mountain views, Casa do Fundo - Sustainable & Ecotourism in Seia provides accommodation, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar. Experiencing Casa do Fundo is like experiencing a piece of history in the Serra d’Estrela foothills. Pedro greats you with a warm welcome to his Bed and Breakfast which was first run by his grandparents in this beautifully maintained and restored 120 year old building. The building and it’s out buildings tell the story of the neighborhood if take the time to ask questiones. The beautiful “forno” in the side yard was shared by the neighbors on bread day- but now his bread is delivered fresh with the honk of a horn. Pedro has maintained a lot of the antique furniture and it is a privilege to use it. It appears that he serves the wonderful typical Portuguese breakfast with his grandmothers dishes. Note- this breakfast is typical for the types of foods provided, but atypical for the variety of cheeses, breads, sweets and cereals that he offers. The location is country side, a short drive out of Seia where you are greeted by the sheep that stay nearby at night. If you like to experience the history and culture of Portugal, appreciate beautiful landscaping and a warm personality- choose Pedro’s. If you like cookie cutter lodging and standard food- you need to go somewhere else.

Located in Alvoco das Várzeas, Quinta das Levadas - Country House & Nature offers accommodation with seating area. The breakfast was exceptional, very traditional and with local products. The staff was lovely and provided us with a wonderful road trip to do nearby.
