As former tour-guide he is well-versed in all sights not only in and around Gondar, but in Ethiopia as a whole. He is willing to offer his valuable advise and beyond that support with organizing things. Simon is authentically friendly and hospitable, always available and helpful but never intrusive or pushy. You can feel that he must treat his staff very well as they all share the same style. I can wholeheartedly recommend his house as base for a stay in this area. And: The lodge is strategically located right at the fence of the caste-complex and has - from the terrasse - a great view.

I had a wonderful stay at Zan-Seyoum Hotel Lalibela.The location is great. The room were very clean , comfortable bed and with excellent bathroom. Breakfast and all the meals was freshly cooked and very delicious .The surrounding mountain scenery is beautiful. Excellent service,the owner and all the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Yohannes,the owner booked my tour guide and transportation to the remarkable churches of Lalibela. A very delightful experience !

Staff were proficient in English and hence the best communication. Their rooms were cleaned exceptionally well and the ambience was just amazing
