We arrived at past midnight on our first night of stay. The check-in staff was NOT accommodating at all. I booked fot two people in the room and requested if I can add an extra bed for my third companion, the staff said the room is only good for two and denied my request. We were told that we have an upgrade from Superior King to a Junior suite with King bed. Once we got to the room, there was a couch and a full size bed (not a King bed). The room is big and the bathroom was spacious. There was no big windows like the photo from the website. There was some insect in the bathroom and the coffee machine did not work.
The next day, I requested to get transferred to the original room that I booked and leave the “upgraded” junior suite thay was less than ideal.
The morning staff was more accommodating and considerate and gave us a nice twin room with a full view of the city. This definitely made a difference and made the stay better.

A beautiful city which far exceeded our expectations.
A beautiful city which far exceeded our expectations. I've been to Dubai and Sharjah and I'd return to Abu Dhabi tomorrow if I could. The Grand Mosque is beautiful. Our hotel, The Shangri-La Qayrat Al Beri was outstanding and centrally located. Yas Island is such a wonderful place for kids and famalies, WB and SeaWorld were amazing! Yas Acres Gold Club was also a great way to spend a pool day. Next time we will be venturing into the mangroves and out into the desert for some night sky viewing.

Abu Dhabi is a developed place where you have various price to stay and eat, while traveling alone and as a family. Compared to Dubai, Abu Dhabi is a quite and affordable place. It may seem expensive if you come from a third world country, but with the standard of living there, the prices are reasonable.
If you come with kids, make sure to visit Abu Dhabi park zoo, the tickets are a bit pricey and for special shows (like sea lion show we saw), you pay extra (we paid 275 AED for a family of 5), but its worth the price and kids have a memorable time.

The private day tour was excellent and provided a great cross-section of sights given the time we had available. The Grand Mosque and Presidential Palace visits were definitely a highlight. It was still hot in Oct but manageable, so remember to consider the time of year to visit if you have flexibility.

We stayed at Al Manzel hotel apartments for a week in October'24. We got a free upgrade and we're very thankful for that.
I choose this place because of a good location, availability of a kitchen, so it's a good combo of a hotel and apartment. Room service was great.
Abu Dhabi mall was just across the street, bus stop also near the hotel.
Once we went to the pool, small but nice, there was a gym too, but we didn't have time to go there
Room was nice and clean. The bathroom is very specious, and we had separate shower and a bath (which is not very common). The location is good and there is a park nearby. There are free dates and Arabian coffee next to the reception which should be a must at all hotels in the area.
The hotel staff gets you a taxi upon request.
We paid extra to get lunch at the hotel, and it was totally worth it!
Location is great for transiting between flights especially if you arrive early in the morning as you cannot usually book into hotels in the city until afternoon. Staff very helpful and friendly.
I’ve stayed in a good few hotels in Abu Dhabi and this was a disappointing stay. Staff were lovely but my room just wasn’t up to the standard I’ve come to expect from an Abu Dhabi hotel.
