Beach area and main street along the lagoon trashy but looks beautiful from afar. Two restaurants nice, clean and relaxing others I would not consider. No shops to poke your head into that look inviting. 1 day as a pass through would be enough time but not as a destination. I stayed at Techos Azules overlooking lagoon area and a short walk to the beach/lagoon area which is ideal. If you stay in hostels I would not book the one (white building) located on the beachfront.

I loved the view from the window, the apartment was gorgeous and clean. It had a breakfast bar, a fridge, excellent wifi. It was perfect for working and during the day I could walk to the beach and have lunch. The owner Jackie is wonderful and sweet. Anything that you need she helps with and even provided fresh coffee in the morning. Thanks for an amazing stay! The mountains and sunsets are beautiful!

Friendly people.. roads and beach not perfect but added to the charm.. good vibe to the place. No Starbucks or McDonald’s 😁😁😁
Scuba shops all over.. Recommend Reef Shepherds! Was good dive just in the bay, but think better in park.. didn’t go due to Vis!

I thought that staying out of Santa Marta would be quieter but not so. There isn't a whole lot to do in Taganga. To get to Tayrona you have to go back to Santa Marta anyway, unless you get the boat from Taganga. A few days was enough. Babaganoush is a lovely restaurant - I only knew of it because a friend had told me.

This place was too jarring for me.
This place was too jarring for me. If you want to party and pay extra for everything, this is the place to go. It has obviously been jaded by tourism.
There are so many other beautiful places in Colombia to visit. I stayed here one night and then moved on to Santa Marta. It worth it.

The weekends ( and probably public holidays) are noisy and the weekdays quiet.
The resort has an edgy reputation but we found it fine during the day and early evening.
There are some good places to eat.
The hostel has a wonderful sunset view with causey hammocks. The staff is friendly and there is a kitchen for your use and a delicious free breakfast.
There are a few room options according to your standards, all relatively cheap.
Bear in mind that there is some climbing you need to do, both from the beach to the hostel (but that's true to most hostels in Taganga) and inside the hostel to your room. In my experience it wasn't a deal breaker and even nice to sleep with a view
Location is great if you plan to visit Tayrona by boat, because Taganga is the starting point of all boats going to Tayrona national park. On the other hand, if you prefer the city center and crowded streets this hotel would not be a good option for you. Rooms with a sea view are huge and Ginna (the host) was super polite and prepared us very nice breakfast every morning. Have in mind this is more like a private house/villa that the hotel.
I really felt at home in that hostel. The staff was so nice. I miss them so much (Nataly, Cangri and the other volunteers).
The clients are mix of Colombian people and tourists, which is a nice mix.
I decided to make a bit of volunteering there, I really enjoyed it!
They also propose different activities that you can do in Taganga.
Finally, the bar and rooftops are so nice to enjoy a good beer or the sunset.
Gracias a todos, los extraño!
The hotel had a very beautiful view of Taganga. The staff was very helpful and friendly all the time. They called taxi service when requested which would arrive within 10min. I also paid for the laundry service which was professionally done. Only problem with the non deluxe suite was the attention to decor detail. We also had a deluxe suite which was very nice with a great view.
Everything!
The accommodation is nice, the house in general with the terasse and the pool.
It has a great view over Taganga to the ocean.
The stuff is super super nice and welcoming we wanted to stay just two nights and ended up in the hostel for one week.
Everything is clean and you feel very welcomed.
Highly recommend when you are in Taganga!!
I would highly recommend a stay at Casa Area! Ruzanna was a great host, very responsive and easy to communicate with. The house was clean, comfortable and had all the ammenities you would want for a convenient stay. Taganga is a lovely spot very close to Santa Marta and with beautiful beaches and great national parks to explore.
Henry and all the people involved in the hotel were really friendly and helpful.
They helped me with the commute, check places for my next stays, connect with people to do scuba diving...
Other than the friendly stuff, food was delicious and the location was really convinient if you are looking for some pieceful space
Very lovely and helpfull staff in the hotel. They helped us to arrange transfer to Tayrona.
They provided us extra towels, however there is no hairdryer in hotel even at reception.
Nice rooftop with a view of sea and mountains. It's a quiet conner so noise from main street will not bother you.
First of all, I want to complement the staff. Very accommodating and friendly. The hotel has excellent views of the beach and mountains. The pool and jacuzzi (sun-heated jacuzzi) are also nice features. Close to surrounding beaches and other mini excursions and restaurants.
Hostel with great vibe and amazing view. Very friendly staff and delicious brakefast. As a solo traveler i had a great time and I felt safe. If you're looking for a cheap accommodation in Taganga you should definitely consider staying in Tamarindo Beach Hostal.
The hostel is spacious and clean. I didn’t cook in the kitchen, but I would’ve felt completely comfortable doing so. I like that the bunk beds in the dorm room were built in, meaning they don’t shake or creak. Sofia was very kind and helpful.
Lovely and helpful staff and owners, great community in the hostel. Very easy to meet people hanging around the pool and restaurant area after diving sessions. Tasty food in the restaurant. Coconut lemonade in the bar is excellent.
Excellent location for completing the PADI open water course with OceanLovers Taganga next door. Some very nice bars and restaurants close by and a hens kicks to the beach. Really spacious and comfortable room. Lovely staff!
Good hostel for staying a few nights in Taganga. The host is very friendly and helpful, the facilities are just adequate for the price.
Recommended for short stays.
I took a boat trip to the nearby beach Playa Grande with a short stop for snorkeling. I don't speak Spanish and the hostel staff was very helpful with translation.
