What a incredible place in one of the most beautiful towns in France. Such a joy to stay here. Worth the expense. The owner Benois made us a delicious specialized meal and gave us hints on what to see and do. Perfect stay!

Very quaint village of St Emilion surrounded by very well known wine producers and next to Pomerol. It was a long weekend so parking the car was a mess to go into town. Unfortunately the vast majority of the big name Grand Cru Classée names are closed to the public so one can simply drive around and check out the name plates. Our hotel was able to reserve two wine tastings with the tour. But all in all, a great experience to see the place behind the great wines.

A lovely village with a lot to see.
A lovely village with a lot to see. It can be very busy and so do your homework before going so that you can get the most out of the visit. Some places require to be booked e.g. the underground church which has tours in English as well as French and Spanish so book the correct tour with the Tourist Office beforehand.
The train line goes from Bordeaux to Sarlat or Bergerac, and St Emilion is mentioned on the information screens only after the train is beginning to load passengers.
There is no bus from the station and a walk of about a mile uphill to the town. A pre-booked taxi would help you to make the most of your time.

We love visiting Saint-Emilion.
We love visiting Saint-Emilion. The history and quaintness of the town is appealing. The surrounding vineyards, producing some of France's, if not the world's, best wines are a fantastic draw to the area. It also is home to so many fantastic restaurants!! You cannot go wrong with a visit to this lovely, historic town.

It’s an interesting place with a grand history of wine...
It’s an interesting place with a grand history of wine growing. Very picturesque. It would be enough to spend 2 days there in my opinion, and if you can get to visit a chateau and cave. I use trains and public transport, or walk, and didn’t like the roads. It’s very hard to get around the area this way. I hated the way cars sped constantly making it unpleasant to walk along the roads - very poor or no paths. Noisy too. So in my opinion the town is spoilt a bit by this. Also for a person on a budget , it’s all too expensive.

This is a small city plucked out of time.
This is a small city plucked out of time. It is set in a wonderful wine growing region of France, which allows you to explore the surrounding vineyards. It is also blessed with a number of excellent restaurants. We are looking forward to visiting again for a longer stay.

Au logis des Eemparts is a little piece of heaven in a heavenly Saint-Émilion. You might easily miss it when you walk or drive by, but the hotel is simply amazing, with a huge, very nice and well-kept garden, dining area, pool area and even a nice and comfortable parking!
I understand why several people mentioned the challenges with the narrow entrance to the parking :) but it is really not that hard :)
I would warmly reccomend Au Logis des Remparts to anyone visiting Saint-Émilion and would definitely return!
The staff were very nice and kindly upgraded our room to the best room in the hotel which had an amazing view of the vineyards and countryside - magical. The location was very good being a short drive to St Emilion. It's a nice property in a vineyard location - perfect for our stay. Andrea kindly did an out of hours wine tasting on site for us and then gave us a tour the following morning of another winery - she is very knowlegeable and helpful.
Perfect French breakfast, with croissants, pain au chocolate, confiture, yoghurt, served in a nice area. The hotel is located in the centre of St. Emilion, which is a lovely city with a lot of famous wine chateaux. For me it was memory lane regarding the wines.
We thoroughly loved this hotel. It is beautiful and welcoming hotel. The staff were all very gracious and helpful - even recommending restaurants and wine shops in St. Emilion. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!
