The small village was very idyllic! Apartment was cool as promised, even though the air outside was rather warm. This is an excellent spot if you're looking to hike or visit nearby mountain villages. Next to the parking spot there are a few benches close by where you can sit and look at the amazing view!

They accommodated a late arrival rather than other places on yourt site who just were not interested.
The room was clean and view was really lovely, especially if you are on a higher floor as we were.
I did not state a preference for a quiet room as per your previous question.
Did not try the pool as it was not heated and it was chilly in the morning.
We were hardly there so cannot comment for more than a one day time period.
It is good for self sufficient travellers who are there to do outside activities rather than live in a hotel.. so great for us.
As a bonus, 5 mins drive or 10 mins stroll away is the village centre and a lovely hotel for reasonably priced, delicious cooked breakfasts - Le Petit Auberge.
Located in the center of the Castellane Village, this hotel is 328 feet from the Verdon River and Gorges.

Castellane is a beautiful village with some of the most fascinating natural gorges, rivers and mountains in France.
The restaurants and shops were lovely with good food everywhere. We had a charming little balcony which let us enjoy watching life in the town piazza.
Incredibly great night life even during weekdays. The restaurants were full and people were playing their french ball game at the main square. Most of the buildings were built centuries ago. The local mountains are in walking distance, that offer great hike routes!

I loved Annot; a charming historic village with walks from the doorstep which lead to amazing geological features. Those walks are well-advertised by the Tourist Office and paths well-marked although best to wear proper walking boots! But there's more: walk by the stream where one can paddle. Horseriging centre nearby. Excursions to elsewhere including rafting but also take a ride on the Train des Pignes. It operates by steam in summer months, but from Annot it's easy to get to Entrevaux or Digne les Bains. There's a few restaurants, bars & shops, and it's great to watch the locals play boules.

We stayed just for one night and arrived late.
We stayed just for one night and arrived late. The old town was like a fairy tale. We had a fantastic dinner at the hotel. Our stay was far to short and we did not get the chance to explore the town and surroundings properly. We arrived and left by train which was a breathtaking trip. We think that Annot is definitely worth coming back to.

Very tranquil village nestled in the protection of the surrounding mountains. My soul felt at peace there. The locals were friendly and helpful. The setting is beautiful. The drive there was stunning. I wish we had stayed longer to hike the sandstone trails. We did walk up behind the town (though the cemetery) up to the train trestle, which was lovely.
Excellent hotel a few minutes walk down hill from Annot train station (on Chemin fer de Provence line), and even shorter distance from Tourist office and village centre. Lovely views from rooms - whichever direction you face. And there's even a little terrace with comfy chairs and views! Hotel has had a re-furb so is fresh-looking and clean. Comfy sofa's in lounge and facility to make hot drink after dinner. Good breakfast; hearty dinners! Warm welcome, friendly staff including the Chef. I would return here anytime.
Small but lovely room with the bed cleverly integrated into the bedroom furniture, but the highlight was the balcony accessed through both bedroom and bathroom, thankfully two chairs, upturned bin served as a table.
My partner and I met in Annot 30 years to the date we landed ( at Le Beausejour ) for the start of a walking holiday and however much the campsite has been upgraded since the hotel was a more appropriate choice the second time around.
Stay at this hotel and you will feel like taking part in a French film. Participate in the quite life on the square, buy your coffee in one of the two bars and your patstry in the bolangerie. Have dinner in the hotel or at the Italian place. Chat to the lady in the Tourist office, she will give you all help with hiking suggestions. And of course, travel by Le Train des Pinges.
We stayed there the second time. Rooms are not to large, but it's enough with private bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant is possible, breakfast included. Private parking for the motorbiles was possible. Price was absolutely ok, in relation to other hotels.
Friendly staff, good pressure and temperature in shower. Late checkout allowed us to do a hike to the chapel and a nearby viewpoint in the morning before clearing the room. Excellent location in Annot. Great rustic baguettes at the bakery next door.
Everything 😊 it was very clean and comfortable. We even found some English speaking Chanels on the tv. It wasn’t a long bike ride into Annot which was quiet but had a few cafes.
Excellent stay in Annot. Private parking, lots of space inside and outside, and fully equipped kitchen. Perfect as a base for hiking, climbing and bouldering.
