Cardigan Castle disappointing, not much to see, may be of more interest to somebody wanting historical facts. To me a waste of time and money. Castle virtually non existent.
Cardigan is a town that time has forgotten! For that it is pleasantly quaint. Nice cafes.
Probably better on a fine day!

Quite a quaint town during the day but at night it does come alive especially the pubs.
A really lovely range of shops and food places.
A visit to the castle is a must.
The best places are often the ones reccomended by locals.
2 days just wasn't enough for me, as just a little further out was glorious bays, beaches and mountains but more spectacular was the waterfalls

Beautiful area to stay despite the mixed weather.
Beautiful area to stay despite the mixed weather.
Went for a few walks on the coastal pathways which had breathtaking views. Cardigan was 10 minutes away by car. Enjoyed a lovely lunch at Crwst. This is a must for anyone visiting the area.
Great pasta lunch at Berlotti's. A fairly good variety of shops in Cardigan.
We also visited Theatre Mwldan during our stay to watch the latest Poirot film.

Not a great deal in the town and much is shut early in the week including restaurants and bars but there are some gems. The Copper Pot serves excellent food and the welcome at the Black Lion Hotel could not be warmer.

Cardigan is a lovely little town next to a tidal river.
Cardigan is a lovely little town next to a tidal river. The castle dominates the town. It's a good place to see the region if you prefer to stay somewhere with amenities. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants. The shops aren't 'gift' shops,. There are plenty of good quality independents. It's a bit of a drive from most places, but worth the effort.
Watch out for the one-way system. There is a large car park in town.
Beautiful accommodation in a lovely home and rooms just outside of Cardigan. Wonderful fresh cut up fruit is served with your breakfast. Hostess was lovely and very accommodating. We needed an earlier breakfast in order to catch the Poppit Rocket bus to hike a stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
The approximate mile long road approaching the lodging is a typical narrow country lane (with turnouts) that can be a little nerve wracking for those not accustomed to narrow roads. This establishment is well worth the drive down to it.
My family and I spent a few days here recently and we loved it. The whole place was lovely. The owners were so helpful and really nice. There was a gorgeous outdoor heated swimming pool and a hot tub outside our accommodation. My family spent a great afternoon playing the huge outdoor chess game and the kids loved the play area. The beds were really comfortable and the place was so clean. It felt so luxurious and we were sorry to have had only booked a short stay here. We will be back and would highly recommend this holiday cottage.
There were only three rooms occupied however the other two were nextdoor both ways to my room. One room had their tv on loud till 2am and we're slamming heavy fire doors at 7am with the tv back on. Very thin walls and creaky floorboards and could hear other guests bathrooms and showers. Would have liked the reception manned later, than 7.30pm, although the two staff lived on site to ring for assistance. Good location for visiting areas we wanted.
Truly stunning location with magnificent views over Cardigan Bay. The restaurant and bars face onto the views with lots of outside tables and seating too. The constantly changing light and weather make for ever-changing vistas.
Huge room and bathroom. Super king-size bed which was very comfortable. Quick and efficient service in bars and restaurant. Easy parking.
The location is superb for town, yet was very quiet, even in the garden. The garden is lovely and has adequate privacy (great for yoga!). The cottage is very comfortable, relaxing and tastefully furnished. There was thorough information about the house, appliances, services and local area provided by the host in 2 well stocked files. Would definitely rebook.
The room was excellent with a superb sea and estuary view. Breakfast was probably the best I have ever had, I had to ask for a lettle less on my plate the second morning. There was an easy walk from the hotel to two small bays from which I could swim.
Quick check-in and friendly staff, good location of the hotel, nice breakfast (also considerate of gluten-free wishes), nice to have a bar as part of the place :) generally recommended if you want to experience a classic 'Inn'.
What a lovely place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. Very nice gardens. Lovely and friendly host couldn't do enough for us.
The host gave great recommendations for nearby restaurants and things to do and see in the area.
Ample parking ideally situated for the town and surrounding area. Bit tricky on the entrance because of an island in the road but doable. Gary was always available if needed and provided local input on request. Enjoyable stay
Lovely hotel, comfortable and well equipped rooms, friendly hosts, tasty breakfast, good location for visiting Cardigan. Very good off road parking. Would recommend the hotel and would stay there again when in the area.

recommended, for peaceful setting away from crowds,in a very nice cottage.* only 5 - miles to cardigan-Bay, & 40- minutes to Tenby.
Room and shower excellent. Staff friendly. Once bar and facilities fully open it will be an excellent place to stay.
