We liked how comfortable the mattresses and duvets are. We rested well on our 5nights stay there.
We got everything we needed in the kitchen to frying and making soups. It was wonderful they have deep pots!
I loved this place. It was perfect location for different places to visit such as Geyster, Pingvilllar (National Park), etc. The accommodation was cosy and lovely. The owners were friendly, helpful and thoughtful; always informed me and my friends about the weather and issues with the hire car. We loved the scenery of the lake especially visiting the hot geothermal bath nearly every night. the last night before we returned to the city, we saw Northern Lights! that was the highlight of the short break. We would go back and stay there again. Loved it.

We chose it as a night stop between golden circle and Vik; village has thermal baths but we had already had thermal spa at blue lagoon, so we didn’t try these baths;
There are at least three places for dinner :)
The village is not worth for a longer stay or you can find a more attractive place ;)

Extremely quiet place.. not much to do.
Extremely quiet place.. not much to do. If you want a quiet place to recharge and do nothing, this is your place. We stayed 2 nights which is maybe too much for this little spot. Enjoyed onion ring burgers at Goodburger!

My guesthouse was comfortable and pleasant.
My guesthouse was comfortable and pleasant. I wished I had more time to enjoy the Fortuna. My hike at 10pm was delightful. I cannot recall ever smelling fresher air. The lupines, birches and pines were lovely. It was easy to get to all of the sites on the Golden Circle from there. Would gladly go back.
The location was very convenient to many sites on the golden circle. The ability to cook meals, combined with the wonderful views enjoyed through the full wall of windows, made for a relaxing stay, especially considering that there was a High wind warning for all of Iceland and recommendations to limit travel. We were able to cook, play games, and enjoy the view while hunkered down during the storm.
The hostel was so welcoming, cozy and clean. From the minute we walked in we took in every detail tying in the old schoolhouse history of the place. The cafe was perfect to spend each meal there, and we especially loved the breakfast spread. The bathrooms were shared on each floor but still private for a single user, which was a lovely experience. The beds were pretty comfortable, too!
The views were amazing. It was perfectly located for Laugarvatn Fontana (they give a 10% discount to people staying in the guesthouse). The bedroom was nice, the beds were comfortable. They don't allow shoes inside so it was nice getting to wear my slippers everywhere. Breakfast was expensive for what it was. The library is a fun room with some games and great views over the lake.
Nice to have breakfast provided in the morning with a cute little shop to peruse. Bedrooms/bathrooms were overall comfortable and clean. Location was awesome coming from Reykjavik and spending the day at Thingvellir National Park. Cute little town with an awesome hot spring, Laugarvatn Fontana, and delicious dinner food at the hostel down the street.
Our host Phillip was very welcoming. Another staff at breakfast was also very nice. The location was perfect next to the Fontana. The room was pretty small and dated, but very clean with a lovely lake view. Overall a good stay. This place would be awesome with some updates.
Beautiful hotel in Laugarvatan, really close to the Fontana.
It has a dinning room where you can take your food, and has free coffee all day long! It has also a little bar.
Filippe was really friendly with us!
The family room with 4 beds was really comfortable
Free parking
This cottage is in the golden circle area, very close to Fontana thermal spa. It’s out in a field amongst horses and farmland. We enjoyed two rooms, private bath, and a kitchen. The deck with pastoral views was lovely. What’s not to love?
WiFi connection was great.
We liked the beautiful views, being near nature and close to places we wanted to visit in the Golden Circle. It was very windy some days and it was really amazing to experience the powerful Icelandic winds and see the sky clear for the stars at night!
I stayed one night on my journey around the Golden Circle. it’s walking distance to the Laugvartan Fontana hot springs and numerous restaurants. My room was clean, check in easy. And the place was affordable in a notoriously expensive country.
The location is very close to Laugarvatn Fontana Spa (3 mins walking distance).
The room is very spacious and all the amenities were available.
The mudroom to ensure the cleanliness of the apartment.
Self check-in was very swift.
We enjoyed dinner and breakfast onsite (paid extra for this). Great location beside the lake and Fontana Spa. Comfortable room in a historic building. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
Great little cottage. It was close to a couple of restaurants and Fontana Baths. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfy. Nice quiet spot when travelling the Golden Circle.
Lovely, warm, comfortable room. Easy check in. Wonderful location - highly recommend a visit to Laugarvatn Fontana spa and their soup, bread and rye bread. Beautiful surrounding scenery.
Beautiful cottage with stunning view from the terrace. Also the surrounding area is worth it, especially Laugarvatn Fontana and Þingvellir. It would be nice to come back someday.
Best stay in Iceland- the cottage is.m clean , neat and tidy. The mattresses are really good quality( memory foam) , kitchen has everything you needed - salt /pepper/ oil/ etc
