Once called a “Paris of the Middle East,” Beirut is the Lebanese capital along the Mediterranean, flanked by the Lebanese Mountains. Severely destroyed during the Civil War, the city underwent major reconstruction and is now a vibrant place full of nightlife and shopping venues.
Beirut is often considered by many major media outlets to be one of the top cities in the world due to its cosmopolitan nature and commercial development. See it for yourself on Rue Verdun, the trendiest shopping area or the Central District, the city’s historical core, full of modern structures, dining venues and open public spaces.
Stroll down the tourists’ favorite, Hamra Street, featuring plenty of boutique shops, popular cafés and restaurants. Beirut is sometimes called the “Party Capital of the Arab World” so while you’re at it, dance the night off at the clubs at Rue Monnot.
For a bit of history mixed with upbeat nightlife, pay a visit to Achrafieh, one of the city’s oldest and most charming districts. Since Beirut has over 5,000 years of history, a visit to its National Museum and Archaeological Museum is a real treat.
Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport is only a 10-minute drive from the city center and Booking.com has a variety of hotels and apartments in Achrafieh and Hamra for your perfect Beirut stay.
Beirut is one of my favorite cities. It is a vibrant city with an amazing cultural history. Walking in downtown, with the beautiful Souk filled to the brim with budget-friendly and high-end stores, while hearing the call to prayer from the neighboring Al-amin Mosque, lets you know you are in a unique city. Its mix of modernity and history makes it so interesting to walk around and discover. It has a great restaurant scene, if you are a foodie - even vegan, there are lots of options. The French colonization impacted its architecture - mixing Arabic and french styles. You get around with Taxis, everywhere has wifi, and you can surely find someone speaking French or English to guide you. The city actually also has a great gay-scene, with bars and clubs, making it a unique city in the Middle East.

Still a favourite city of mine. It has everything you could need for a short break: beautiful beaches with waterside restaurants, a good City centre whicch provides a glimpse in the Arab world. High mountains on one direction and excellent vineyards to the south

Beirut is a must!
Beirut is a must! Lebanon is small and Beirut is a great location to plan your travel from if you are here for a short trip. If you plan a longer time here, it's worth spending more time in different regions of the country. You can make a day trip from Beirut to pretty much anywhere in Lebanon.

I'm having the pleasure of staying at the Crowne Plaza Hamra Beirut, and I must say it is an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped into the elegant lobby, I felt welcomed and well taken care of.

I highly recommend this hotel to fellow travelers. Kudos to the team for maintaining such high standards in such difficult times... 👏
Excellent service at the Radisson Hotel in Verdun. Mr. Mahmoud the manager and the staff were extremely helpful at all times and did their very best to make our stay as good as possible. They even presented me with a cake on my birthday, which was a very kind and much appreciated gesture.
The hotel is in a great area for access to all of Beirut and nice bars and restaurants can be found close by. Parking is available and the hotel arrange everything.
Would definitely stay here again.
The best hotel in Beirut. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. I even had my small dog with me which they welcomed with open arms. I cannot thank them enough. The pub (Duke of Wellington) attached is amazing. Drinks galore, amazing food and great music. 24/7 electricity. Believe me, if you stay in Beirut stay here. The value for money is brilliant. 10 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 I'll always stay here when in Beirut. The location is ideal too. Wow just stay here.
Spotlessly clean, spacious room made for a comfortable stay. Free upgrade to a business room by the very friendly staff. Electricity was constantly available and the wifi signal was strong, with only an occasional small delay. Breakfast was varied and delicious. The hotel is centrally located, a stone's throw away from the corniche and around 30' on foot from all major downtown attractions. Taxis are very cheap if ordered through apps and get you anywhere in no time.
Regarding all what is happening in beirut and how prices differs from one hotel to another, they have maintained the best price with the same great services, the staff where very helpful and polite, cleaning was daily and great, amenities where available, near Hamra and Rawcheh, even they provided laundry and transportation services and i liked that they provide tours to everywhere in lebanon with private cars and affordable prices.
The breakfast was reasonably priced and delicious! So much selection. The room was big, spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. I had a great night sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed in other five star hotels in Beirut and this is the only one where I felt the service was 5 star. The hotel accepted credit cards which is great as many hotels in Lebanon do not because of the banking crisis.
That's the best place I was in Beirut! The bed was comfy, hotel felt very cozy and I met nice helpful people. The electricity is working till 1 am same as wifi. That's not a problem of hotels that's a problem of Lebanon, so be prepared. The staff is very friendly and they introduced me to many important information about their country. When I had a problem I knew I can reach out to them
Health Club.
Front desk most responsive & professional.
Easy to locate off main road, & easy parking. No heavy traffic to deal with around hotel.
Great bakery right across the street from the hotel!
Non-smoking facility; much appreciated.
Convenient jump off point if heading east across the Lebanon mountains the next morning.
I would not hestitate booking again!
People working here are extremely polite and always ready to help you. Highly recommend The J Hotel & Spa also for great location near the popular Hamra Street with a lot of bars, restaurants and souvenirs stores! The Hotel is also located at walking distance from the sea and unique Pigeon Rocks. Hope to see you and Beirut again soon!
It is my 3rd stay there, my home in Lebanon 🇱🇧
All staff are so friendly, super nice and professional.
So clean and neat.
As usual Rania is the super star 🌟 shining everywhere, Nader is a great guide to his country, patrisia and front office team are wonderful.
Looking forward to our next stay there.
Thank you from Shereen & Nader
Beyond 5 stars! Stayed last week at this wonderful hotel. Everything exceeded my expectations. On top they have the most wonderful staff, extremely kind and helpful. A true example of Lebanese hospitality. The spirit and culture of the management clearly reflects across all staff members. Highly recommended 👌🏻
Loved the location of the property, absolutely loved how hospitable the staff were from my airport pickup, to my tours, to my airport drop off. Everything was seamless. They were aways nice and always trying to help. I came with my sister and i would recommend this hotel to everyone coming to beirut.
Breakfast is extremely poor
Hotel is not reliable - they tried to cheat expats with the currency devaluation and charging them ridiculous amounts for basic services. Taking advantage of the situation in lebanon to cheat foreigners and they wonder why they talk badly about lebanon ! Shame on you
the property is located in an amazing area of Beirut. the hotel has a good design with high end finishing. the staff is always supportive and kind. they do their best to mele your trip perfect. from the roof top there a wonderful view of downtown.
The location of the hotel is fine, this is the downtown. So, many shops or supermarkets to buy smth. In general, the room is nice , good there was a microwave, kitchenette, bath is ok.
great little hotel in the heart of Hamra, room is spacious, comfortable bed and despite being in a busy area it’s relatively quiet. Staff is amazing and helpful. I’ll come back again!
In short, i would recommend all who i know or read this review to stay at the hotel, cleanness, calmness, security, good food, service 7/24, closeness to airport and downtown.
Cynthia at breakfast was amazing excellent service and always smiling also Ali the concierge took great care of us since day 1. Highly recommended hotel in Lebanon.
