Situated in the northwest African nation of Morocco, Marrakesh is a stunning labyrinth of colorful markets with traditional goods and exotic aromas. Wander around the vibrant alleyways and meet snake charmers, acrobats, and musicians.
The Medina is the historic district of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site hosting numerous monumental buildings. Fill your senses with smells, sounds and sights that you will never forget.
Djemaa El-Fna is one of the most popular squares in Africa and here you will find an array of regional spices, argan oil, leather products and traditional clothes. During the night there are big white tents offering delicious specialities such as tajine, couscous, brochette and soups - a taste sensation.
Famous for its hammam treatments, Marrakesh has a selection of places where you can relax in a traditional steam room or enjoy a soothing massage.
Marrakesh Menara Airport is one of the largest in Morocco and the airport’s new extension combines modern elements with the most ancient architectural traditions of the area. Booking.com has a broad selection of Marrakesh hotels, apartments, and villas for every taste and budget.
The Medina is too chaotic. Motorbikes are disturbing and represent a source of pollution. It is a city of contrasts. The intense Jamaa el Fna square is close to valuable atractions and beautifull gardens.

Marrakech was a great city.
Marrakech was a great city. The colors, the culture, the vibe, the weather, the food— you name it, Marrakech had it. It was also quite safe in my opinion.
Dislike: overpriced food, articles and other products for tourists. You basically need to negotiate for everything to get the lowest price. Even the lowest price is not as cheap as you’d think!
Like: Taxis were quite cheap. (Of course negotiate to get a good price)

Loud, frenetic, and full of life with plenty of things to do, sights to see, new foods to try, and souvenirs to buy. For your first visit you can easily spend 3-5 days here. Plenty of comfortable and very affordable riads within walking distance.
Also a fantastic entry point into Southern Morocco from which to travel elsewhere - hiking in the Atlas mountains, surfing in Taghazout, visiting the Sahara, or chilling in Essaouira/Agadir.

We liked walking around the medina and experiencing the every day life of the locals. I can imagine it must get very busy when the tourist season really starts. There is certainly a vibrant feel to whole area and you just need to walk around and get a little lost to appreciate it. Gueliz is the modern area with newer hotels and many restaurants serving cool beers after a long day.

Wonderful, vibrant city.
Wonderful, vibrant city. We stayed 3 nights which was perfect. Also the weather was good but around 20-24C which was perfect for our visit. The architecture is wonderful and the various palaces amazing! Especially stunning was the Qu'ran school. Also the Jardin Majurelle outside the Medina was well worth a visit. The best part though is just walking around, through the various souks and other parts of the city. The Morrocans are really friendly and helpful - a wonderful people, the only shame being that they are not great animal lovers and some of the poor animals I felt really sorry for.

Marrakech provides quite a cultural and sensory experience.
Marrakech provides quite a cultural and sensory experience. Walking through the souks, smelling the food, hearing the sounds, there is a lot to take in. Go into one of the many riad's and you will be amazed how silent it is inside. Before we left, we read a lot of negative stories, about people trying to "show you the way" and then insisting on being paid. We did not experience anything of this. People were very friendly.
We did not have such good experience with the yellow taxis ("petite taxis"). They are supposed to use the meter, but they won't for tourists. We recommend to use the InDrive App (it is the local Uber).
We were very pleased with Abdul, who works for InDrive. I have permission to share his What's App number: +212 660881814 .
Must see places include: Bahia Palace, Dar El Bacha (the must beautiful palace in Marrakech), Madrassa Ben Youssef.
Four days in Marrakech are sufficient, we can recommend going to Essaouira for one night, or spend a night in the dessert.
Michael and Guido took exceptional care of us from before we even arrived! It was our first time in Marrakesh and their advice and help navigating the city made us feel confident and relaxed. I loved how each room smelled so incredibly good. The photos don't really do the place justice; every room is unique and a VIBE. If you care about good service, I would not hesitate to stay here. (Location was excellent for exploring the Medina as well.) Also, the best breakfasts we had in Morocco.
very disappointed I have booked the hotel Atlas asni and it was close ….
we have been transferred to other property which was very dirty …
the room was disgusting…
the staff were very unprofessional
they have as wait more then 20 minutes to get the information from the other hotel
the room was nothing like 5 star
the breakfast below the expectations
the management of this hotel need to wake-up
The riad and the staff were absolutely exceptional in every way. The riad is beautiful with a nice pool and dinning room on the ground floor with rooms above and a roof terrace. All the staff just couldn’t do enough for us. We went on to stay at the 5 star Tigmiza hotel and it honestly wasn’t even close to this riad in terms of the service and feel of the the place. In couldn’t have been better.
Excellent trip we booked two rooms for our family. Every thing was above expectation Reception staff specially Samir was well trained professional . We used most of the hotel facilities including pool, breakfast , restaurant, room service, shuttle service, they were all up to professional standard. Our experience staying in this hotel was 5 stars specially my children like it very much
Lahcen is very nice very and helpful. All staff of the whole hotel are nice and smily. When I come back to Marrakech next time I will definitely book this hotel again. We even got an upgraded room for our family. restaurants breakfast the bar everything is above 5 star. I definitely recommend to everyone this Hotel. price and quality ratio is allso good
A very warm welcome. very friendly staff and owner.
The grounds and swimming pool are beautiful, taken care off by a team of gardeners who also anticipate guest's needs ... as I was on a lounger, one gardener brought over a cushion for my head to rest on. This is the sort of service you get in 5 star hotels.
The breakfast was particularly good.
The hotel is beautiful, giving us the feeling about Morocco life, very charming and well decorated. The staff were wonderful helping and taking care of us as I have never experience before. In special, I would like to thank Mustapha and Loubna that were always very kind and went over and above to make our stay fabulous.
the hotel is a very nice hidden gem in Marrakesh. it’s off the Main Street so it’s quiet and comfortable and the staff are super friendly and great hosts! Our stay also included a delicious breakfast pictured below. If I visit Morocco again I will definitely be returning to this gem
Riad Aya is a hidden Moroccan gem for any tourist. Riad Aya is an incredible place to stay, to live and enjoy your days in Marrakesh….Gracias to give us the opportunity to know part of Morocco culture and, big hugs for all the staff….you are amazing hosts, 100% people oriented.
Top class riad, had dinner on the roof terrace which was very good. Very welcoming staff who looked after my needs constantly, 5 Star customer care at this Riad that has a feel of a top class boutique hotel. Thanks guys!
this is my 2nd visit. it’s absolutely spotless, staff are very attentive. I loved the vibe of the riad and felt like I was in Morocco and not a 5 star hotel in any other country
Architecture and interior are pretty as pictures. Water quality is not super good. It was different from 5 start hotel in same area. Same for service level. Could be better.
