Loved the city and environs. I could have done with more time so that I could visit some of the outer attractions such as Larnach castle, Albatross centre etc.
Some great coffee shops close to my accommodation.
Weather was variable during my 4 days but this was as forecast days ago, so time to make provisions for the wet days.

A town full of old buildings and sights, including railway station, and churches, as well as scenic beaches for nice walks and drives around the peninsula are great. Didn’t do any dining but from what I saw there is lots to choose from.

Was visiting son, who had moved down there The first 2 days weren't very good, as we arrived during a weather crisis. We did everything there, apart from a trip to Lawrence, and the train trip was cancelled due to the weather. We ate the Blue Cod, cheese rolls, bluff oysters (a bit on the expensive side). Dined at Speights, The Best Restaurant, Saw the Museum and the settlers museum. Very good places to visit.

Bigger than i expected.
Bigger than i expected. Lovely place and looks like there is plenty of upgrades happening in the city - both building and roads.
Lots to do and lots of attractions for all. Whether its city shopping or outdoor activities.
I would love to spend more time to explore here.
Roads on the surrounding hills can be very narrow, steep and at times confusing.

So much to do in Dunedin!
So much to do in Dunedin! We were there for 3 days but could have spent longer. Easy to drive around the city. Had a great meal at Anatolia Turkish Kebab House, best baklava I've ever eaten.
St Clair beach worth a visit and Larnach Castle is a must do.

City with flair and many things to do, no matter if rain or shine. Otago Peninsula and Port Chalmers are absolutely great places to discover. Dinner at the Historic Carey's Bay Hotel was the best in four weeks of traveling. Tha Saturday farmers market at the railway station in Dunedin is ghe place to be to have some goodies and enjoy the people.

The hotel is right in Dunedin so we were able to walk to the shopping centre and local tourist sights. The pub downstairs was great. We ate one meal in the dining room and it was fantastic. Our beds were really comfortable and the rooms were warm (we travelled in winter). The bathroom was clean and airy with a big window which opened. This was a neat hotel which I would describe as "art deco" but this could be the wrong description. They also had free parking for hotel guests which was MUCH appreciated!
It was a one night stay! The room was small but had everything you needed in it. The heater on the wall did the job of keeping us warm. Hotel is in a central location and is next door to the Casino in Dunedin. There is a restaurant a couple of doors down from hotel where we had a beautiful meal. You didn't need to book. At the end of a very long day, the receptionists were just very cheerful and helpful.
Well presented and spotlessly clean with an excellent shower. Everything you could realistically want for a short stay. Very close to the Botanical Gardens and restaurants within walking distance. Downtown Dunedin is 20 minutes walk or a short bus-ride from right outside the hotel.
