1. The place: an old building dating minimum back to the ottoman era in the same complex of buildings of the Nativity Basilica. It's its own entrance in a traditional compound still inhabited by the family who built it! Really nice to see the neighbourhood isn't gentrified or changed by mass tourism! It doesn't get more authentic! The renovation of the place is perfect ; while keeping the authenticity of these ancient stones it's really comfortable and has all needed features, even a kitchenette! The place is also practical for a business stay like mine for instance I was able to iron my shirt! In add to some little details that makes you feel the passion behind all the work put in, smooth music (BTW the place is acoustic 🤪!!), chocolate bars, Nespresso capsule!!
2.Location: in the heart of the city center And the old city right next to the Nativity Basilica, the feeling of waking up in the old town, having breakfast in a small restaurant is incomparable, also all needed shops, bus stations, ATMs are less than 1 min away literally!!
3.Host: Khader responded right away, I told him i'll be there around five, but had to work late and got to the place at 8! He was patient and comprehensible and even assured his availability for any needed help!
I would definitely book the place for any upcoming trips in Bethlehem!

Owner always answered the phone. Wife met us there and they helped the taxi find the place. They provided key and gave a tour of the apartment. Quiet location. There are a couple of shops close by and is a walking distance to main road to take taxis

Bethlehem is a welcoming and safe city to travel !
Bethlehem is a welcoming and safe city to travel ! It has some local attractions such as the nativity church, mosaic centre, Pro Terra Sancta community centre, market, or just bars and restaurants. The great thing about Bethlehem is that through Palestinian shared taxi services which act like buses you can reach all West Bank sites such as Jericho or Ramallah.

Overall, except the Nativity and St.
Overall, except the Nativity and St. Catherine church, and the areas surroundings Bethlehem which require a taxi (Shepard's field, St. Sava and St. Theodor), there is not much to see there. I initially went by mistake to an area which is a refugee camp, called Aida Camp. This was not the safest experience for a solo woman traveller especially if coming at the evening, if taxi dropping you at different location (at the checkpoint), provided incorrect information by the guesthouse staff in terms of safety, staff not at the guesthouse location at the time of arrival and upset that you are upset that you had to wait two hours in cold weather, in the evening at the doorsteps of the guesthouse. At last, I felt extremely unsafe, especially after the reception staff whom I had to wait for two hours outside at the doorsteps was "sensitive" when I was telling him how upset I was. Scary experience... Please be mindful when you book the guesthouse... Unless you look for a refugee camp experience...

We felt very safe. Plan to return.
We felt very safe. Plan to return. We found in Manger Square the best deals on olive wood. The people were so nice. Some things are made in China and others not. Did not like the kids coming up to us during dinner with gum expecting us to give them money. The restaurants did not either.

I went to Bethlehem during Christmas time, I took a city...
I went to Bethlehem during Christmas time, I took a city tour with a private guide recommended by the staf/ owners of the guest house and he went out of the way to please me on food requests that I had and he was very knowledgeable of the history and the different sites we visited. I couldn't have asked for better weather. The only advice I have is to better travel in slow season, Bethlehem had a sea of tourists and sometimes very difficult to see the important sites.
But the best choice was the Herodium Guest House, owned and managed by a local family, I could have stayed one month with them, very warm, helpful and attentive to your needs! I'll do it again in a heart bit.

Bethlehem was very disappointing.
Bethlehem was very disappointing.
There literally are two historical / religious places, and an insane amount of shops.
After a few hours spent there, I was genuinely stressed out - the amount of taxi drivers stopping me was ridiculous, the amount of sales people stopping me was insane. What’s even worse, they really use people’s kindness and good heart for their own profit.
I would absolutely not come back, nor recommend it.

We visited the Church of Nativity. It has many tourists.
We visited the Church of Nativity. It has many tourists. We were not able to enter the birthplace of Jesus. But it was comforting to note that this is the birthplace of the Savior of the world. Around the manger square there are many restaurants. You can choose what you like to eat. Some of the roads are narrow. It is quite difficult to navigate because of the traffic. It is better tow walk from the hotel. But then climbing up is a challenge for some who are identified as senior citizens. However, it is memorable.
The home is very charming. The history is incredible. Every room has a name and Nabil, explained the reason behind it. Our room was the Well room, with the original well. Very large and spacious. I loved the love both (Nabil and Mai) pour out to his guests. Breakfast is homemade cooking, eggs were the best. The service and care is amazing. Can't say enough good things about them. I highly recommend this Charming home. The bed is super comfortable and the pillows are fluffy. The best it has a spray bidet, which most hotels do not have.
Location was excellent. Just 10 minutes walk to Church of Nativity and Bethlehem Peace Center. My room was very big with lovely balcony. The rates were extremely reasonable. The owners were very kind As a solo traveller I felt extremely safe in Bethlehem. I highly recommend House of Peace as a base in Bethlehem. Dani the owner offers the best guided tours, so educational. Included Refugee Camp, Banksy Hotel, The Separation Wall among others. He will customise a tour to suit. Amazing and educational. I would love to return.
Modern guesthouse, very clean and comfortable. It was reasonably priced compared to other locations in the Bethlehem area. Very easy to get to by taxi from checkpoint 300 (also walkable). Of course the most unique feature of this hotel is that it is inside Aida Camp, which allows visitors to see for themselves what life is like on this side of the wall, in a camp. It is just a short walk from Banksy's Walled Off Hotel (7-10 minutes), and about a 25 minute walk to Manger Square/Church of Nativity.
Exceptional hospitality, whereby we were welcomed as guests. The hosts really follow their slogan "you arrive as a guest, you leave as family". The hosts were open and communicative, which brought us nearer to the family and their culture. Thanks to Vera for preparing very tasteful, healthy and varied breakfast and dinner meals! Location was convenient to see most Bethlehem highlights by walking! Thanks again to Vera, Elias and other family members for the great experience!
I totally recommend this hotel in Bethlehem. The location is just perfect, in the heart of the city. The owner and his family are so nice. The room is small, but has everything you need - and even more! From basic stuff for kitchen, like tea, coffee, sugar, plates, mugs, a fridge and even a small stoven. I was suprised to see they have also lots of ammenities, hairdrier and iron. Bed is comfortable. There is heating in the room. WiFi works perfectly. Amazing place!
Incredible arty hotel in an unusual spot, right by the division wall. My room was spacious and nicely decorated with bizarre views of the wall. The hotel has an impressive art gallery and now a new exhibition about the history of the conflict from the Palestinian perspective. Very interesting and enjoyable stay. The lobby bar is also a great spot to hang out over a drink admiring the art pieces all around.
We had a lovely stay of four nights in November. The room (and the rest of the house) was beautiful and the hotel was a real haven. It is in a lovely quiet part of Bethlehem just a minute or two from Manger Square. Breakfast was wonderful and the host Nabil could not have been more thoughtful or welcoming. I will definitely stay here if I get the chance to come to Bethlehem again.
My friend and I loved our stay! The bedroom was huge and the interior architecture was beautiful. We were able to book last minute and ended up extending our stay.
Rozana and her family were so friendly and accommodating. Rozana gave us an amazing tour of Bethlehem as well as a fun photo shoot in traditional clothing. Thank you for everything!!!
The staff were exceptional and extremely accommodating. They guided us to almost anything we asked and they were extremely helpful, everyone spoke English too which is great. The view was just indescribable we would wake up and watch the sunrise over the hills on the balcony, we are definitely coming back here next time we are in Bethlehem!!
had such a wonderful stay thanks to Irene and here gorgeous family. they were so helpful and kind and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a great time in Bethlehem and Palestine.
the hotel is in a good location just a short walk from the main square.
we stayed in the family room, which was lovely and comfortable.
A wonderful Hostel! The balcony with view of Bethlehem is just awesome. Everything is very spacious. The dorm room was comfortable and every bed has its own reading light and power socket. The location in Bethlehem is perfect and Bethlehem felt very safe to me. I recommend going there!
Clean, comfortable and centrally located hotel with lovely staff and superb restaurant! The food is exceptional and very reasonably priced. Everyone on staff was so warm, friendly and naturally hospitable. It's the best hotel option in Bethleham by far!
Very big and tasty breakfast that will keep you going all day long! The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious with balconies overlooking the city. A very nice family-run hotel about 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes by taxi from the centre of Bethlehem.
The location was fantastic and staff were very kind and professional. The heating was very cozy and the rooftop bar was to die for. Helped make our stay in Bethlehem as fun and pleasant as it was. Decorations throughout the hotel are also tasteful.
Modern, sleek and comfortable rooms and common areas. Wonderful host Elias who is a pleasure to talk to. He has many future plans for the hostel and Bethlehem and I am sure he will have a huge positive impact on his community.
It was a charming local hotel right next to Manger Square. The owners are welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the bigger room with the kitchen, which was very nice for our 6-night stay.
The appartment is newly renovated and is very cosy. The host Rozana was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions. A facilities are ok and it is a nice place to stay in Bethlehem!
There is a beautiful energy in the hostel
