Go to Gulf Shores, especially around Mardi Gras. We spent the same amount for a low-class hotel in Mobile as we would have paid for a hotel or condo at Gulf Shores - in the winter. Gulf Shores has a Mardi Gras parade too. We were injured when entire boxes were tossed into the crowds from the floats in Mobile. In Mobile, prepare to pay $25 for parking during this festive time. Forget Dauphine Island, it's a dump. Gulf Shores has easier parking. I did feel comfortable with the people in Mobile and I did enjoy the historic district. Everything closes up during Mard Gars including the Carnival Museum, which has unusual hours anyway. Even the kids are out of school during this time.

Mobile is a great city, full of historical facts and of course the birth place of Mardi gras! However in town suites was disgusting, roaches crawling on walls, ceilings, ac unit , tub, & sinks. Carpet filthy, power outlets hanging by wires, stovetop filthy, doors were black even though suppose to be white. Staff very rude. BOOKING. COM DOES NOT NEED TO PROMOTE THIS BUSINESS. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT.

Mobile has a very historic charm that—though I haven’t been there yet—seems to have many parallels to New Orleans! I love the “live oaks” and Magnolia trees that canopy the many old beautiful pieces of architecture here!
We did the tour of the USS Alabama—The Carnival/Mardi Gras Museum—walked Dauphine Street with a stop at George’s Candy, the Cathedral, and the park’s downtown—ate excellent Soul food at Judy’s Place—and did the Bay City Ghost Tour.
We will do an airboat tour on our last day before we have to go home, but I would love to have also seen the history museum, the fort near downtown, and the art museum.
You need atleast 3 full days to get a good taste of the area.
Parking is plentiful in most spots, but you probably want a vehicle to get around. I have lived in large cities before and felt comfortable enough here, but like many large cities, after dark there are some sketchy spots here or there, just don’t act a fool and you’ll be fine.

Me and My family really enjoyed staying at the hotel.
Me and My family really enjoyed staying at the hotel. Both nights footsteps were heard early morning outside our door, checked nobody there also second night somebody was running up and down stairway near our door, checked, nobody there. We had left to go to dinner on the first night there and when we left our ceiling fan was running, when we returned it was off. Asked Front Desk if by chance they would have turned it off, said they don't go into rooms after guests have checked in. To turn it back on had to get on bed to reach the short chain.
Never actually seen anybody or thing but it's obviously haunted.
Breakfast was my only disappointment. It wasn't hot enough when served, but the waitress was excellent. About the room -- a little small, but overall very pleasant. The lobby: Absolutely a joy to relax there--large and magnificent in its beauty and comfort. I've traveled the world in my 86 years, but while at the Battle House Hotel, I experienced far more enjoyment than I had expected, the employees added to that enjoyment by being casual and heads-up to be of service, making us feel welcomed at all times.
Loved that the entire hotel was nice and clean. Also had a good, pleasant, and clean smell.
The location was pretty nice. Quiet area - close to the highway. Near the University of South Alabama. Quite a few restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. The breakfast was excellent - my sons and I thoroughly enjoyed it - definitely the best breakfast experience we’ve had at a hotel in years.
I stay in LaQuinta every time when travel between Texas and Florida traveling with two small dogs.. overall I like this hotel chain but it also depends on location and the newest building itself. This particular hotel on Airport Blvd is not my first choice. The little details such as hair on the floor, old washed off sheets, smell and old appliances, does not make the stay pleasant.
The hotel was unlucky to have a hot water problem when I arrived. but it was the day after Mardi Gras so, there was disorganization everywhere, Hotel was dirty and staff was not able to support on this matter, the showever head was verry poor, the beds were super soft and the pillows way to big. on top the service was poor, laundry way too expensive. a verry bad experience!
Amazing deep-south environs; an entire 4-block live-oak-shaded neighborhood restored to its antebellum height, including brick streets lined with real French gas lamps, and restored antebellum mansions and town homes, all of which are operated as Fort Conde rentals. A truly marvelous immersive 1800’s experience. Walking distance to downtown Mobile attractions.
The whole experience was great, the staff was so friendly and the room was ready and met our expectation for accessibility. the only item that was a little inconvenient, there was no working desk to work from. Being in a wheelchair, I would rather have the accessible items be what I need before a working area. We enjoyed the room and hotel.
The hotel was OK. The beds were very comfortable. The greeting and assistance we got from the staff member, Shea, was outstanding. She knew everything about the property and the surrounding area. Her recommendations were spot on, and her friendly, outgoing personality made the hotel feel just like home. Her presence upgraded the hotel for us.
Everything. I enjoyed my stay here a week before and this time it looks like they have prepared for my arrival and I had even much more pleasant stay this time. More cleaner room and filled out toiletries in the bathroom. It's an excellent hotel with awesome staff especially the housekeeping and front desk.
Thank you Tru by Hilton Mobile
The location was a good central location in Mobile. Walk to the civic center was easy. The hotel is a little older but was clean and the beds were comfy. Fairly quiet location. The breakfast was edible and appreciated.
We loved everything about the place! It was clean, located right downtown, room and kitchen are was well equipped. Staff was amazing, especially Rashida :). We are definitely staying at this hotel next time!
I couldn't stay at your hotel because it was filthy, as soon as you entered there's a chair with all kinds of dirty stuff, the commode had not been cleaned, it was stained from a bowel movement.
A great hotel. The night receptionist was very professional and helpful. The room wad big, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and big. Only positives about this hotel.
