There's not a lot to do in Shreveport in mid-March except gamble in the casinos and eat at some good restaurants. They do have some nice parks, an aquarium, and the SciPort science museum with an IMAX theater.

We got to the hotel at 1130. The bank approved the reservation, but thought the charge out of state, because it bills as Dallas/Shreveport, was fraudulent. By time we got that taken care of it was past 2am. We hotel hopped for a week between Wingate and comped rooms at El Dorado, now Bally's casino. Great facilities and staff. Would of liked to get a weekly rate, but we didn't prepare well.

I liked my view from the window and that the bathroom had a separate walk in shower and a huge garden tub. But we could’ve used more covers and a softer mattress with less noise from the neighbors slamming their doors and I wish that some of the rooms offered microwaves in them so I didn’t have to go downstairs and hand my food to a stranger to warm it.

Shreveport was less than impressive.
Shreveport was less than impressive. Dirty and not very family oriented. I am sure the people that live there know the better places to go and things to do other than casinos but they really fall short on informing visitors.

Enjoyed the visit, but they need to work on getting retail stores in the boardwalk river front. About 85% empty since the panicdemic and not returned. We ate at the Saltgrass and it was very good with friendly staff. Also there are no buffets at any of the casinos, but the restaurant is very good and affordable. Still plenty of sportsbars and clubs trying to come back for nightlife entertainment. If you like antique or thrift stores, there are plenty within 5-10 miles from casinos. Be sure to use your GPS and there won't be a problem getting around town.
So sad, it has great tourist potential for revenue and tax base.
Oh yeah, beware of the $15 a day resort fees, not sure how they justify them. Didn't receive anything special from regular hotels that you have to pay or feel obligated to tip.

I love everything about my city !!!
I love everything about my city !!! My city has shopping, gambling, sights and so much more. Monkhouse Seafood, Nicky's Mexican restaurant and Chili's are my favorite spots. When here visit Pierre Bossier Mall and Mall St. Vincent, excellent shopping centers.
We were arriving in Shreveport to spend a week with our Daughter and her family when electrical power for the area went out. Had to quickly find a place for them and us to stay for the night (the heat/humidity was brutal, and they have a toddler). Were able to book Home2Suites at the last minute. Was pricey, but otherwise very nice.
The parking lot is large and well lit at night. The king room is spacious with a good size bathroom. The room was clean and there is no smell in either the room or the hallway. The hotel does offer breakfast with a few options. The location is great for those that are passing through as the hotel is next to the freeway.
We've stayed at Homewood suites Many times . The service the hotel is exceptional. My parents are in a nursing home in Shreveport Homewood suites It's about 5 miles from there We always enjoy our stay there. The staffTIs wonderful . Very pleasant and we will stay there again. Thank you
We have always stayed at this location when coming to Shreveport because of the location and decently priced rooms. Staff at checkout was very pleasant. This hotel has so much potential. The lobby area is so nice and welcoming, the rest of the hotel def needs an upgrade.
I'm now convinced that it is the front desk staff that keeps customers returning to this property. After I initially bragged on this mom & pop hotel, they have gotten worse each time. The thing I like about this property is the staff meaning front desk clerks.
It's cheap. The bed was surprisingly comfortable.
Although the service did take awhile on a seemingly slow night, the attendant was friendly. The location is convenient. It's just right off of the interstate. I also love a dog friendly hotel.
None. There are gangs in room opposite mine smoking who knows. Drinking, cussing, naked in hallways. The door to my room was left ajar, tv on, smoking room instead of non smoking, stripped bed, urine in cup by door, blood on toilet seat.
It has to be one of the cheapest hotels around but it is not full of drug adicts and it is clean. It is near the hospital district and the very first exit out of the city so only a 4 minute drive to the Boardwalk or downtown, max.
Clean room and had plenty of towels for our family. Staff was friendly.
We were glad to see the bathroom bars because my mom has a hard time getting around and this helped her get off the toliet and safely out of the shower.
