Friendly staff, fun firepit with provided smores ingredients and roasting sticks, super quick laundromat. Easy location, comfy & clean room. Ours had the kitchenette with plenty of pots/pans/dishes/utensils for cooking and a well stocked local grocery store in Ouray. Would absolutely stay here again.

Ouray is an in an excellent location to either drive to or fly to, with a couple of airport options 2 hours or less away. Ouray offers many activities (hiking, hot springs, jeep rentals, etc.,) within the immediate area, and very short drives to many other beautiful locations. ALSO, you really cannot beat the scenery that you can see from basically anywhere within the Ouray city limits. BREATHTAKING!

We drove north from Durango on The Million Dollar Highway and stopped in Ouray. We were there for only one night but I would like to have been able to do some hiking nearby. We drove west to Telluride the day after Ouray. If you are interested in high end shopping and more commercialism, it was great, but Ouray is definitely more our type of town!

Beautiful cute town in the mountains with one main street and maybe couple more. There are no big stores, but there are places to shop and a lots of restaurants. There are amazing mountains around where you can go for a walk and hot springs to soak. I definitely recommend visiting the waterfall at Box Cañon Falls Park.

A very unique town nestled in the mountains.
A very unique town nestled in the mountains. You can feel the heritage of a long gone mining town. Beautiful old buildings and very nice people. Harleys and Jeeps are all up and down Main Street. Unless you are going into the mountains to enjoy the great outdoor a day will suffice.
Spectacular mountain scenery, excellent classical music, average restaurants, generally cordial service people. Take a jeep trip with the San Juan group, it's worth every penny. Excellent general store for a small town. Fun to walk and probably excellent hiking. Pleasant climate. Be careful not to hit the deer when driving.
The exterior of the hotel mimicked a sweet small-town cottage with blooming flowers hanging from all angles and wooden finishes surrounding the stairways and balconies. These aspects complemented the towering cliffs provided by Ouray's rocky boundaries. As for the room, we were comfortable with the warmth provided by the heating unit and we were entertained by the flat-screen TV, which had a great signal. We enjoyed our stay here and we look forward to our next overnight visit.
Perfect location with a brief walk along the creek into downtown. The owner Julie gave us first time visitors great recommendations for activities in and around Ouray. We drove the million dollar highway, visited Orvis hot springs and went to Telluride during our short visit. The lodge offered nightly s’mores around a fire (complete with complimentary blankets if needed) and a restaurant with an amazing breakfast buffet. Would definitely recommend staying here!
It was the least expensive place to stay in Ouray so we did not know what to expect with the exception of the beautiful images provided online. We loved our room and the view. It was cold outside but very warm inside. Room 203 had the best view of the mountains. They provided a very nutritious breakfast and snacks for purchase. Shopping and restaurants were within walking distance and the Hot Springs were close by.
The location was perfect and the staff at the lodge were excellent. Ms. Cheryl was awesome and showed us around the place and gave us the brief run down of the best things to do in Ouray. The rooms in the lodge all had working thermostats, as we were worried about that in the beginning. The kitchen was well stocked and all the equipments were working well. We were all very happy with our stay.
The instructions received from the hotel before check-in are clear. Upon arrival the staff was very welcoming and walked us through the details and the property.
Got pleasantly surprised by them having continental breakfast and there were enough options. The room was clean and ready by the check in time, the bed was very comfortable
Also they have reserved places for outside parking.
A lovely historic hotel in the heart of Ouray. Easy walk to restaurants, shopping, bars. We had it as an overnight stay only but it really fit the bill. Room was quaint and great value for money. Staff were amazing, great little restaurant / bar next door. Breakfast was ample, not a full buffet breakfast but certainly enough and served in a small dining room, making it cozy.
Location was great for us (both that it was in Ouray which was a good midway point in our drive, and the location in downtown Ouray was good as well), and plenty of available parking. The lobby area seemed nice though was empty the entire time we were there so hard to say. The check in being done entirely remote (much like an Airbnb) was convenient given our later arrival.
Comfy room with a nice mini fridge. Easy location off the main highway and close to Ouray hot springs. Also, the river right next to the hotel rooms is a treat. The vouchers for gas station breakfast wasn't ideal but it was fine. I liked that they gave us smores materials for the evening campfire. I appreciate that they were pet-friendly!
Very rustic Hotel in a beautiful town.
Don't expect 5 star accommodations when traveling to a town where the average age of buildings is over 100 years old. The water pressure was great for showers but the toilet seemed small for the average American.
For a few nights stay in Ouray I would recommend the Ouray Inn.
This is my second time staying at this hotel. I couldn’t be more thankful for Malory and Cole. They both saved me from missing my flight.
The room overall was cleaned, grabbed breakfast one day, and as a solo traveler felt safe in the hotel. Thanks again for everything:) hope to be back again!!
staff was wonderful, rooms are very large and clean. beds were very comfortable. within walking distance to everything in Ouray. the river running behind the property was very pleasant. the hotel even being right on the water had no smells are mold, and that’s very rare!
Beautiful restored historical hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The room was large. Bathroom was nice appointed with marble floor and sink, separate shower from bath. Thick towels. All the furnishings are refurbished antiques. Lots of coffee and real creamers offered
The China Clipper is a beautiful Victorian B&B just of Main Street in Ouray. Each room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was served each morning between 7 and 9 am. We will be back on our next vacation to the San Juan Mountains of Colorado.
A delightful, light, spacious, clean and comfortable home from home. An easy riverside walk from Ouray, or just a few minutes drive. We would definitely stay again if we returned to the area, which is, unfortunately, unlikely.
the St Elmo was such a cool hotel to stay - perfect location. owner had perfect recommendations for our long weekend in Colorado with sights to see and places to go.
Comfortable and well-equipped room with plenty of great shops and restaurants nearby, as well as a choice of hot springs to visit! Very friendly and helpful host!
