Sapa is stunning—packed with breathtaking viewpoints. I highly recommend renting a motorcycle (it’s affordable and the best way to explore freely). Many tourists opt for guided hiking trips with locals, which is great if you have time and want to connect with village culture. Skip Cat Cat Village (the 150k entrance fee isn’t worth it). Sapa was stunningly beautiful and what I expected to see in Vietnam. The hiking opportunities are fantastic with the most incredible views and you can hire your own guide for around $20 each. The town looked very cool but we didn't get to spend much time there as we were hiking and our homestay was an hour walk from town. One of our favorite places in Vietnam.
One of our favorite places in Vietnam. Stunning rice fields and mountains, warm and welcoming people — it truly left an impression on us. We did a two-day trekking tour with Mama Shu Shu, whose family runs a homestay in the mountains and also organizes treks. This experience was honestly the highlight of our four-week trip through Vietnam. We also visited Cat Cat Village and Mount Fansipan. The views from Fansipan were absolutely breathtaking. Great and exciting spot for tourists who want to visit the mountanious part of north Vietnam, without losing the comfort of the accomodation in a city, that can provide the necessary infrastructure and safety for an average traveller. Great restaurants and coffe houses at all corners, taxis are available to get to any location nearby, frequent transfers to Lao Cai, and even to Hanoi if you want to take a bus ride instead of train. Be prapared for low flying clouds and rainy periods of your stay, but it makes the area even more exciting! We hired Sapa Sisters for tracking. The city was clean and vibrant.
The city was clean and vibrant. The lake, the town's lighting, the mountainous background added to the warm appeal of this town. Everyone was happy and helpful.
