Kendal is without doubt one of the most welcoming places in the UK. Fantastic pubs, eateries and locally produced shops (butchers etc). I go mostly to enjoy a pint in the George and Dragon, the local guys and gals feel like friends straight away. Can not wait to go back

Kendal is a fantastic town with lots of history and things to do. Situated on the River Kent, a great alternative to staying in the crowded and expensive Lakes. We ate in a fantastic little Wine Bar / Restaurant called Ramble by Northern Wine, one of the best places we have eaten in a long time with superb wine on offer.

For us it was a stop on the way from Sussex to the Isle of Skye at a convenient location. I was particularly keen to see the Quaker Tapestry but we found Kendal to be a charming and fascinating old town with very nice shops and cafes. I would recommend it unhesitatingly as a base.

The location was good for getting into Kendal or onward to Windermere area, nice views. Staff were friendly thought menu slightly expensive maybe should have cheaper bar menu variation. Used the taxi firm on key fob to go into Kendal for excellent Thai meal and they were very prompt both going and coming back with reasonable price.Top floor would be struggle for anyone with mobility issues as very steep climb. All in all nice stay enjoyed the bar
The decor was outstanding, it had such a cosy feel and you can tell so much thought has gone in to creating this amazing property. Every detail has been thought of and the location is just around the corner from the centre of Kendal. Alan kept in touch with everything and provided sooo much information on the loft and the local area. Loved our stay
Modern facilities, very clean and good location in Kendal/easy travel to Windermere. Dog friendly which is perfect for the area and has a small outdoor some which our dog enjoyed.
