We were absolutely amazed by the quality of the hotel, rooms, service and dining in Secrets Akumal Rivera Maya also in terms of comparing the hotel to similar 4 resorts we stayed in during our trip to Cancun. The hotel is set in lovely lush gardens, rooms are huge, not new, but absolutely lovely and comfortable - it made us feel like we belong there. We also loved the variety and quality of amenities, housekeeping and turn down service. The staff in every corner of the resort did their best to provide outstanding service. The dining and drinks offering was large and for an all inclusive resort at high quality. Gardens, pools and the beach were perfectly taken care of and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Also best part of the Akumal beach - cleaned daily by the hotel. After we saw other hotels of similar ratings in the area, next time we would not stay anywhere else.

The property is located right on the beach with a restaurant called the turtle hatchery next-door. It was beautiful walking in the morning and watching the sunrise. The staff was second to none. Everyone was genuinely friendly. Tony, the owners son appears to be taking care of the place, and is naturally friendly, courteous, and sincerely wants people to enjoy themselves. You might run into strangers that are just as friendly but no one is friendlier.
