Casa Nostra Boutique Hotel & Spa features a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Palermo.

We stayed at Casa Nostra for three nights during our honeymoon, and it was hands down the best hotel we experienced during our entire trip through Sicily. What made it so special wasn’t just the lovely, clean room with a great balcony but the exceptional staff who went above and beyond every single day. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed not just with professionalism but with warmth and genuine care. Georgina checked us in and immediately made us feel at home. She gave us great tips about the city, showed us around the hotel, and continued to check in on us throughout our stay. She was kind, thoughtful, and made sure we were always comfortable. Vincenzo was incredibly helpful when we inquired about renting beach chairs in Cefalù. He gave us multiple options, made excellent recommendations, and guided us through it all with patience and care. He also helped us navigate the tricky parking situation in Palermo which is no small task! And then there was Matteo, who, along with Vincenzo, actually helped us move our car into a free parking spot so we wouldn’t miss breakfast. That’s the kind of above-and-beyond service you rarely see! We truly felt like we were staying with friends who cared about our experience, not just hotel staff doing their job. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-kept. But honestly, what made this stay so memorable was how much the staff cared. Every day, they greeted us not just with a smile, but with genuine interest in how we were doing and whether there was anything they could help with. It was a wonderful way to end our honeymoon, and we’re so glad we chose Casa Nostra. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricier side but you truly get what you pay for. If you’re looking for a carefree, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming stay where the staff actually cares about your experience, don’t think twice — this place is worth it.

The rooms were spotless, staff so accommodating and kind, breakfast buffet was phenomenal. A very comfortable stay for my grandfather who is 92 and primarily uses a wheelchair. He had a handicap accessible room and it worked out well for him. We were allowed to load and unload our car in the back of the hotel which was also very helpful. Located in a great area with nice walking path along the shore and lots of restaurants and some shops. Overall great experience.

Palermo has a lot to offer, there’s lots of things to see and do. We went to Mt Etna and Trapani. Caught the train to Cefalu which was a beautiful seaside town with lovely shops and restaurants. There’s a bus that takes you up to Monreale which was a lovely town with great views over Palermo. The only negative is that it is not cared for very well.. the roads and pavements are pot holed and uneven and rubbish around the train station and other areas was not cleared away. Broken bottles were all around the bins by the monument in front of the station 2 days running. Even when the rubbish had been collected the streets don’t appear to ever be swept. A real shame as it lets down the city. Other parts of Sicily all appeared really clean and looked after.

There is so much to see in and around Siracusa, we only spent a night and half a day. Was way to short. Just wondering around the city and small Island of Ortigia is a way to submerge yourself into the hum drum of Sicilian life. Visit the Roman Amphiteater and just sit in a cafe and watch life go by.

We did 2 nights in Taormina, 3 or 4 would have been better. The main street at night is so busy even at the beginning of June, in high season it would be too much. It wasnt my favourite place in Sicily but it is worth a visit.

Laid back beautiful village and shoppers' paradise.

Laid back beautiful village and shoppers' paradise. Maybe a bit overcrowded during the day with day trippers from bus tours and cruise ships. Evenings are much quieter and magical with sea side dining and strolls along the alley ways and the obligatory gelato. Plan to make reservations at top restaurants or wait up to an hour if unplanned dinners after 7:30. One dining could be seaside, more expensive but with fresh catch and a great view. (Try Al Porticciolo) Our favorite meal was more local, near the cathedral at Passafiume Cantina. A day walk through the city is a must with extra time at the cathedral. If you visit in a warm month be prepared for crowds but definitely think about some beach time if only a picnic lunch to people watch. It is a 2 hour drive to Villa Romana del Casale to see magnificent mosaics and an incredible ancient palace. Must see! Cefalu is definitely worth a few days before of after the inevitably chaotic but fun visit to Palermo.

The valley of the temples is wonderful but one needs to park at gate 5 . The archaeological museum is the best we have seen . Good restaurants . Sol8 is a really good restaurant with friendly waiters. Santo spirit church is beautiful and you can buy little cakes from the nuns on the side of the church. Atena apartments are very convenient for walking around the city.

Noto is very beautiful - the creamy coloured buildings in the main part of town are exquisite. There are plenty of great places to eat, and some nice places to shop and staff are generally very friendly and helpful. It’s also a fantastic base for visiting other places in Val Di Noto - Siracusa, Modica and Ragusa can all be reached easily by car or bus, and nearby beaches, the Vendicari Reserve, and quaint little places such as Marzamemi are reached easily if you are driving.

It was very pretty and the people were very friendly and helpful. Full of history and interesting places nearby but a place you could relax and unwind. Our favourite restaurant was Lido de Angelo which was a 10minute walk from the apartment. It had a special Tourist menu at 29euros but believe me it was delicious. And the house wine at 5euros a glass was superb. In fact drink local wine its lovely. You could sit on a balcony and watch the sunset and listen to the waves. Stunning. Also try the Hop On Hop off bus which goes along the promenade at 16euros it is tremendous value. You get to Taormina and then Castelmora (which is a must) plus Savoca, where the Godfather was filmed. Visit Isola Bella too. The beach is rocky but it is such a beautiful place. A local bus from Giardini Naxos will get you there at only 4euros. Also try a local boat trip at 40euros. For two hours they show you the coastline and it is very jolly. So its a great place to have a holiday.

Personally, I would have preferred one to two days in Ragusa and then a day in Noto and a day in Modica. In Upper Ragusa, do not miss the Chiesa Ecce Homo! The blue interior is gorgeous, and the priest kindly invited us to view the church from the choir loft. In Ragusa Ibla, the Circolo di Conversazione tour, which also includes a second palazzo and a visit to the workshop of Cinabro Carrettieri, is, at 15 euro, a steal. If you are interested in Italian history and traditional craftsmanship, it is unbeatable. Guides were excellent, fluent in both English and Italian.
