How about EVERYTHING ! Open just 6 months ago it sets a F, F and E (furniture, furnishings and equipment) standard unmatched in Zanzibar’s resorts. And the food is the best resort fare I’ve had in 3 trips to Zanzibar. The most expensive menu of any resort and the kitchen responds to personal requests. Be sure to have the mango, avocado and beetroot salad and the Asian fusion dishes ( e.g. vegetarian spring roles are cooked just right with great sauce). Complimentary breakfast is first rate as well with many options and the best coffee I’ve had in Zanzibar. And the wait staff are lovely—well trained , eager to serve and with great senses of humor. Though the quality of this resort could lead to pretentiousness, that’s not at all the case, a credit to the managerial leadership. And make sure you splurge by booking one of the several units with a private pool.

The owner and the staffs are all so nice and friendly, they make me feel so welcomed. The property has its own small private beach with nice area to get tan…but there were a lot of kids playing by that really areas. I found them cute but they can be a little loud sometimes. The food is amazing and well prepared.

I enjoyed my short stay here. Nice pool area, the staff was very friendly and helpful, a good overall vacation vibe. Good location, just a short walk to the beach and the food overall was pretty good (though I would reduce the large variety of pastries and focus on freshness rather that more options that clearly stayed around for days.

    The staff are exceptional.

    The staff are exceptional. They are intentional about hospitality, constantly checking if everything is okay and responding instantly to any requests I had. Honestly, just for the staff alone, it’s worth a visit. Their smiles are so welcoming, especially combined with the lovely garden space.

    Old town is amazing.

    Old town is amazing. Walking around the lanes and back roads showed the real character of the place - particularly when you get outside of the "tourist" hub. No need for tour guides - just grab a map and explore. Also visit the fish market for a real look into the day to day life of the locals and fishermen.

    Paje has long white sandy beaches with beautiful turquois water .. a wind surfers paradise. Great for long lazy days just to soak up the sun and enjoy good food. It is very easy to get around Paje, we spent most of our time eating at Bento, quality food at affordable price.

    beautiful beach!!!!

    beautiful beach!!!! However not the best beach for bathing because when is lower tide you simply have to walk to much for a swim. beach in the north are better if you have kids. Much more quiet than Page and less windy as well. Very safe neighborhood with nice restaurants.

    The snorkeling was a true adventure, with well-protected marine life and crystal-clear water. Spotting the dolphins was an unexpected bonus! Visiting the sea turtle rehabilitation center and feeding them was a special experience.

    Kiwengwa is a perfect place to spend time with the family.

    Kiwengwa is a perfect place to spend time with the family. Exquisit nature, kind people and the best food. Boat trips, beach activities, village strolls, getting to know the culture of local people who are very knowlegeable about the natural agriculture and extreemly kind and nice. We loved every minute of our stay at Kiwengwa.

    The location is great, just a minute from the ocean, there are a lot restaurants both expensive and very local ones, no issues with electricity, hot shower and air-con and the safe box. Card and cash payment is acceptable. Very safe to stay and walk around even at night, the owner is very kind and trustworthy. Very basic breakfast but it OK, no TV and fridge in the room, internet is breaking so often especially in the room, but it works perfectly at the balcony. It is very budget friendly and highly recommend it.

    I loved that it was a proper reflection of the Island in that you took home the beauty of the place and kindness of the people. It was not loud or noisy and had very few touristy hotels and vendors hassling you

    This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten...

    This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.

    Generally, a lovely and intimate establishment with staff that care for your personal needs. The manager is so friendly and always wants to know how the guests are doing. The most beautiful sunrises. The performances add to the spice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
