Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location and views are fabulous and the staff are so very friendly and helpful. Our suite room on the 37th floor was incredibly comfortable and well appointed. The pool is outstanding, so very popular. Afternoon tea and evening drinks are a special treat that really elevate the experience. We were so glad we stopped at the Shangri-La on the way home to New Zealand to catch up on time zones, sleep and rest, we’ll certainly do it again on future trips to Europe.

United KingdomLocation was the only slight downside but you save so much compared to central hotels so can’t complain!!
We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room on the top floor and had amazing views of the Burj from our window. My wife was pregnant during our stay and they gave us a cute teddy and cake gift as we arrived. The hotel breakfast was perfect with great variety. The pool area was fine with a great view of the Burj. Drinks were mega expensive around the pool so we just grabbed some from a local shop and they were fine with that. They also showed football by the pool in the evenings which was cool. The hotel is a little bit ‘out of the way’ from tourist areas. The walk to the mall is lengthened because you have to get across the highway, say a 30 min walk roughly so not too bad. There are lots of basic restaurants outside of the hotel from local ones to places like Nandos. Just a note that we visited during Ramadan but our stay was not affected in any way.

We recently stayed at Shangri La hotel where the service was absolutely top-notch. Every concern we raised was promptly and attentively addressed, making us feel truly cared for. The highlight of our experience was an unexpected upgrade to a one-bedroom apartment on a high floor, courtesy of the hotel. The views were spectacular and the space was incredibly comfortable. Special thanks to Assem Amin, whose excellent customer service really made our stay unforgettable. His professionalism and kindness were outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a seamless and luxurious experience.

United StatesWhen my husband and I went to I think the 42nd floor to take pictures, we were approached by one of the staff and was asked if we were guests at the hotel. We told her yes but she had to asked us for our room keys. She said because they have non guests who come to the hotel. Seriously?? Staying in a 5 star hotel and get treated like that. We dint appreciate it. They need to make the elevator non accessible to public. Room keys should be use in the elevator to get to their guests room so they don’t need to have someone checking on people.
