Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The lock was acting a bit weird. I’ve got the instructions not to leave it in the key hole. However, even while following it, I turned it twice from the inside, got the keys out, and could not open the door after doing so. It was a struggle to let myself out later. Therefore, a bit of advice - while inside turn the keys once 😅
Everything was great! The location is really close to the amusement park. And walking to the city center took me only 30 minutes or so 😊

For the price I payed, I would have expected for more. The bahroom was not so clean, the shower faucet handle was broken, there was an ugly mirror placed too high, and whose frame is broken, a small detail butlooks nasty. One of the bed mattresses was broken, and very uncomfortable to sleep. There is a coffee machine but no coffee is provided, I bet that at least a few coffee capsules when you pay so much for each night stay would be appreciated.
I liked the position of the apartment, and the fact that there was an elevator to go upstairs. I liked as well that itis in a nice surrounding area, and the view from the windows.

The ceiling in the bathroom has water damage with flakes of plaster falling down through the day. We reported this bug never heard back. The location is not that close to the old town if that’s important for you.

The blowdryer had a problem. I sent an email via Booking.com but never got an answer or a replacement. Maybe there was a better way of communicating, but it was not clear. If we had stayed more days, it would have been a real problem.
Great location. Cute and comfortable apartment. Public transport nearby. Next door to the wonderful Museum Hundertwasser

There want really anything to dislike. The lounge was a little tired, old fashioned and not very comfortable but we were hardly in there.
The location was great- right he next to the Kunsthaus and a short tram ride away from the centre on the No.1 tram. The apartment was nice and clean, the beds lovely and comfy, there was a nice modern bathroom and the kitchen was well equipped.

The bed was too floppy. Clean wasn’t perfect. You must pay for parking in the street 5 €/2 hours during day.
Big apartment near Pratet park. You can see the roundabout from the window. Centrum isn’t far away.

No washing products (soap) were available. We arrived late, market were closed from 6 pm saturday till monday morning, we couldn't buy them.
Good located apartment away from the bustle of the touristic area, but still close enough to walk. Really nice bar downstairs in Kunsthaus and nice terrace on the top. Clean and comfy.

There was not even a bar soap (not talking about shower gel). The first thing to do was to go to the shop, but if a guest arrives late or it is Sunday, when nearby shops are closed... I think a soap is a must! It would have been also nice to leave a tea bag or a coffee pot- nothing...
Location is great. The flat was facing a yard with a VIEW!!! Very clean.

The pull out sofa mattress was disgusting, covered in urine stains and had long black hairs. It needs to be cleaned or is not suitable for use.
The apartment was away from the bustle of the touristic area, but still close enough to walk. The canal was lovely, and the apartment looked nice.

A couple of minor issues with the shower tray and sink (in the bathroom) and hot water supply to the sink (kitchen), but nothing insurmountable.
A regularly-used accommodation, very conveniently situated close to the Landstrasse station and a short tram ride (to Radetzkyplatz, Tram 0). Very clean and comfortable with good facilities and wi-fi connection.
