The host was in constant contact to update on what we needed to do upon arrival. He met us and gave us a rundown of how to get into town, the fireplace etc. he left us alone reiterating to phone him for anything during the stay. My husband and I loved that we could easily walk along the river into town.

The location in Bright was close to the centre and it had optional lovely access to the centre by walking on a track by the river into town. This easy access to walk to town via this track was a definite highlight of our stay. Beautiful well-cared gardens surrounded the Tudor-style villas. Heating was by a wood fire or by reverse cycle air conditioning in the lounge area and we found the wood fire worked very well in warming the place as we were there when it was -1 degree overnight. Access to a shared washing machine and dryer was also handy.

Alistair provided great communication and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. With a late Autum stay we expected it to be cold, however the property had a good heater ideal for taking chill out of the air in the morning, and a woodburner which was nice for the fireside ambience and to warm the house at night (and it really pumped out some heat!). Only a short walk to the main street in town, convenient to get to and from places to eat and locations to meet up with fam who were also staying around town. There was supermarket close by which was good for the option to make food at accommodation. Good location to get to local walks and some further away (e.g. Mt Buffalo). Even went to a local game of football at the oval (when in Victoria...). Would definitely consider coming back to stay at the Merriment Cottages if we back in Bright in the future.

The floor is really cold so better to bring slippers with you or some thick socks at least. The electric heater didn't really warm the room and the fire place made it too hot. Hard to find the right temp. Everything else was pretty great.

Really cozy large 1 bedroom cottage. Can walk straight down to the river and walk into town in 10 to 15 minutes.

Not a thing! This place is perfect.

Perfect Location, Beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside, well presented cottage with everything you could possibly need. Walking trails and a stunning creek right outside your door. Fire wood waiting for you at the front door and a really comfy queen size bed. This place is unique and absolutely gorgeous.

Take extra towels if you have long hair. The jets worked in the spa bath but didn't stay on without keeping the button depressed. I'm not sure if we missed something. It would be nice to have a bigger comfier sofa for the colder weather.

The location is stunning and perfect. We stayed in Riverdeck, and the deck outside is beautiful, lovely to hear the river and the birds. The cottage is lovely with almost everything you need. Fire is glorious. Overall, you will be thrilled with your stay!!!

Difficulty accessing our accommodation as my partner has limited mobility - driveway was gravel & a bit steep in places but the owner found us another parking spot that was more accessible & flat.

Lovely location, comfortable bed but a little limited with space & no where to put our luggage. Kitchen only had a two burner cooktop though we were advised of that on booking. Only one double power point in the kitchen.

Bright is a great place & base for this region of Victoria . So much to see in a variety of day trips . Would recommend to stay at least 3 nights ; more if time permits .
