My room was a bit small though I fully expected that to be the case.

Both the owners and the staff were friendly and welcoming and did all they could to ensure a pleasant stay, even undertaking arrangements for transportation to the cruise port. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and the hotel decor and gardens are lovely.

Nothing. The whole area would be difficult if had mobility issues. Our taxi dropped us off up the road, but the staff were able to arrange a taxi to pick us up at the door on departure.

Peaceful surroundings, amazing staff cannot do enough for you. A really special place and lots of wonderful bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Up on the hill we felt safe and happy

Gorgeous gardens and a view of the Valparaiso port. Very unique sinks, window frames, and furniture. Numerous areas to sit.

Beautiful property, lovely rooms with a great view of the port area (we boarded a cruise in Valpo). Anne and Alex were greats hosts and we especially enjoyed both Catalina’s manning the desk. Yummy breakfast with a lot of variety and there are many tasty eateries nearby. There are other things to see and do nearby, but also an easy walk down to / ascensor back up from the city. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Valpo.

The shower in our room didn't drain very well

The property was attractive, clean and had a pretty terrace and garden, with views over the city and harbour. The friendly, professional staff and owners made us feel very welcome and were happy to help with anything else we wanted. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful.

Adult beverage selection could have been more varied. The designated smoking area could have included an umbrella or other shade.

There was little I did not like.

I LOVED the location, so central to the historic district of Valparaiso and with a wonderful view of the water to the North. The owners and the staff took such great care of us, offering suggestions, making recommendations, and more. I cannot recommend this comfortable location more.

An actual door to the balcony rather than climbing through the window but not a big deal.

The staff was excellent. A special thanks to Catalina. She was super helpful with suggestions of things to do in the area, arranging tours, etc. She even gave us a train card to use when we decided to take a day trip to Vina del Mar. The property was within walking distance to several things. The patio was a private oasis in the middle to a highly developed urban area. Very good breakfast

Nothing to consider cause it was perfect

I'm trying to find words to describe this place and their entire team. From the first contact I could feel attention and concern for us. When we arrived Catalina welcomed us so well that we were impressed. She told us about the city with a tourist map and helped us understand a little about it. The beautiful garden. The beautiful way that many artistic things were integrated into the rooms and surrounding areas. The many places where you could sit and relax and enjoy the views. Quiet. Well located. Not next to a street. The exceptional breakfasts. Totally secured area. Electric fences and lots of cameras. So much more. I could write a book ! There is a travel library. You need some ice, no problem. You need a cork screw, no problem ! You need a card for the train? Here you go. Etc…..

As said, the tendency of the staff to be occasionally, somehow, excessively welcoming

This carefully designed hotel is, in all regards, comfortable and cozy. Our room was located in the new building but I am quite confident the rooms located in the historical mansion are at least as comfortable. The central location of the place also enables the hosts to fully enjoy the touristic part of Valparaiso. With that said, only describing that way the experience this hotel has to offer would be reductive: the interest of his hotel lies in its ability, at its microcosmic level, to almost perfectly reflect the macrocosmic reality of Chile. Chile is an excessively simple country: there are upper-class areas and they are lower-class areas. Notions like the Middle-class are alien concepts here. The Valpraiso’s region includes Valparaiso itself, which was once a formerly monumental city. it is now a city almost in ruins where only modest people now live. The Valpraiso’s region also includes Vina del Mar, which is the part of the metropolis dedicated to upper-classes. Vina looks like a soulless resort-city made of concrete buildings along the seaside. By its location and its features, this hotel is, somehow, the epitome of this Chilean spirit: in the downtown of Valparaiso, which means in a poor area that only survives thanks to tourism, you will find this small and cozy hotel, surrounded by electric fences and protected by a CCTV watched from a dedicated security room and by heavy portal gates. From the terrasse, you could enjoy the view of the surroundings to which buildings in ruins bring some charm. The staff is nice, even excessively nice in regard to European standards. For instance, during breakfast, you may be suddenly interrupted by a staff member who feels sincerely enthusiastic to keep you updated on how well she is progressing about filling out some uninteresting administrative forms related to your checkout. Such behaviors are first surprising but all things considered, they also contribute to the charm of the place.

More shadow in the courtyard would be good. It’s my only first hotel, where I was offered to leave a tipp. I mean, all coasts of hotel must be already included and it’s a little bit strange.

Hotel, Personal, view were perfect. The manager helped me with almost everything I needed. She explained me, wich districts are dangerous, wich I have to visit, where can I try local food and where I can go at night for partying. Hotel has 1-2 Parking slots, what is excellent, if you’re traveling by car. the hotel is placed almost in the center of the district and from there it is quite comfortable to go to all sightseeing around. I also received a Aluminium bottle for water from the hotel as a gift. Personal in hotel is English speaking.

The entrance location was difficult to access but the actual location is excellent. Steep entry without driveway directly to property.

On the day of arrival, it was slightly harder for the taxi driver to find the hotel. But I got off very close by and walked to it myself. The stairs leading to the hotel may not be the cleanest looking or smelling, but this is consistent with rest of Valparaíso, which is more than offset by this beautiful and comfortable hotel stay in beautiful Valparaíso filled with vibrant street art.

This hotel is safe, clean, comfortable and beautiful. It has beautiful gardens and view of the ocean. Loved the breakfast. Room was small but cozy and beautifully decorated with a garden outside its door. Staff was very friendly and provided ideas to explore places in Valparaíso and Viña del mar. It is very conveniently located.
