Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsWe liked everything. There are only two things to note: 1. The houses at the back (we stayed in number 12) are close to a school. It can be loud until the school is over around 15.00. 2. The hotel has no gym therefore bring your own yoga mat if you’d like to stretch after the tours. We bought one from the shops nearby, the hotel had none to borrow.
This is truly an oasis. An absolute joy to come back from all the tours and explorations. The pool area is very relaxing. The breakfast was tasty. We also enjoyed the restaurant menu and ate there many times. The hotel located at the main parking lot (the end point for most group tours) and at the beginning of the Main Street at San Pedro which makes it really convenient.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like - but a few very minor areas of improvement for the future: the bathroom window in our room was oddly exposed, so we are pretty sure people walking past could see in! A frosted window would solve this. Also, while we appreciated how clean the room was, we think cleaning two times a day was a bit excessive! Perhaps staff could ask guests if they would like this or if just once a day was enough.
Exceptional service from the staff - they couldn't do enough for us! The rooms are absolutely beautiful and clean, as is the pool and restaurant area. The hotel really gives off luxury vibes. The location was perfect.

SwitzerlandHotel Desertica is a very relaxing and peaceful place. The individual round cottages are surrounded by a compact, well designed garden area. The pool in the centre is surrounded by deck chairs as well as tables of the adjacent bar/restaurant. All staff are friendly and very helpful. The location is well placed being at the edge of the very centre of San Pedro.

BrazilNot really downsides, but maybe a little more options for lunch and dinner would be nice. The closet in the room was too small to accomodate both mine and my husband's items.
The hotel was well located, very beautifully decorated, with the motives of the city. The staff was beyond friendly. Breakfast was delicious, and a la carte. You can order whatever you want, in the quatity you want. Since it is a small hotel, there is no point for a buffet. If you have to leave the hotel before breakfast, they make you a pack so lovely prepared! And tea whenever you want too. The service was the high point of the hotel for me. The room, bed and shower was comfortable.

This is a beautiful property in a fantastic location right on the main stretch of town. It’s at the far end though and you feel quietly tucked away which allows for quiet rest and relaxation. The rooms are really nice, clean and spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. I was worried when I saw the property didn’t have AC but the rooms stay cool and there is a nice big fan to create a breeze (and doubles as a great white noise machine). The breakfast was great with lots of options and the other meal we ordered for dinner one night was also really good. Great drinks at the bar and the staff is really kind and helpful.

United KingdomNothing at all
I chose this hotel because the reviews I read were outstanding. The reality is everything they say. The photographs looked incredible. Take a look through the gallery - here again the reality matches the publicity. This gem of a stylish boutique hotel in a small oasis town excels on all points. Firstly the rooms are beautiful. Large comfy bed, beautiful linens, towels and robes. (Hoorah! No TV. You are on an adventure in a remote part of the world.) The bathroom is very stylish and modern. Excellent toiletries. The pool and restaurant areas are wonderful. A mix of ethnic style and comfort. The staff are outstanding. From being welcomed by Gary and looked after by the wonderful restaurant team (special thanks to Freddy!) you really cannot ask for more. Breakfasts are fabulous. The all-day menu is very good too. Location is right at the quiet end of the main street which is teeming with bars, restaurants and travel agencies. And all this is in a small oasis town In the desert. Wow! Don't hesitate. We are avid travellers at the high end of the adventure/expedition segment. This hotel is ‘a find’.

United States of AmericaThe room got pretty hot at night without AC but not unbearable. I would imagine this is only an issue for a few months in summer. Some construction was going on so it was pretty loud while lounging at the pool.
Staff was so friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. Rooms were beautiful and the whole vibe was so special and so beautifully decorated. Every night we got a turn down service and little gift on our beds. Dinner was incredible and cocktails by the pool were convenient and delicious!

United KingdomThere was still some noise at night from closeby bars etc. But not too bad. No air conditioning in the room but probably not needed as temperatures drop to cool levels quickly at night for sleeping. A mini bar and TV would have been appreciated but no big deal.
Very cute little hotel. It is beautifully decorated throughout. Spotlessly clean. Loved the pool area. Very nice place to relax after a day out in the desert. The little chairs tucked into varoius corners are a really nice touch. Food is good, though other options also nearby (Adobe e.g.). Location is basically perfect. 5 min walk from restaurants and bars but far enough to have minimal noise and the drop off point for many tours is literally at the hotel gate! Overall I'd say we'd go back to Desertica as our first choice if we have the pleasure of visiting San Pedro again

New ZealandNothing to fault
We loved everything about the Desertica. Exceptional service from the moment we arrived and received a warm welcome and welcome drink. The food is fabulous. The room (no 7) was beautiful. And the best part I think is the property design and gardens - the views from the room out to beautiful trees and planting, sweet little seating areas dotted around the villas, a very nice pool area. It’s also right in the middle of town so great location for restaurants, hiking bikes etc. The staff are warm and helpful 10/10 ☺️

United KingdomA little daily variety on breakfast might be good and perhaps the parking is cramped. No aircon in the rooms, but they stay cool.
Hotel Desertica is absolutely stunning. It would be hard to find anything really to complain about. From the wonderful welcome with Rica Rica Lemonade, to the staff, especially Gary, always willing to help out. The rooms, all made from traditional Adobe, are beautiful, large and well appointed with lovely shower and bathroom facilities and the hotel communal areas and bar are lovely. Breakfast is nice and the location cannot be beaten.
