Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The owners were absolutely amazing hosts, offering to-go breakfasts for our early departures and ensuring we had a clean and comfortable room. We loved being able to use the common space to store refrigerated items and also meet other guests!

The historical neighborhood was central, close to public transportation and centrally located. Host couple was delightful.

Sandra and Hector were both so friendly and welcoming to us -- we had smiles on our faces after every interaction with one of them. They truly made the stay exceptional. Apart from that, the rooms were clean and comfortable -- all we could ask for -- and breakfast was nice as well.

Everything was perfect, exceptional service, I felt like home for real! The owners are super friendly, helpful and always one step again for everything. Breakfast is included and all the facilities are super clean and accommodation are super confortable, they even provide you with a delicious breakfast in a box for those who have early morning tours

Rooms are on the smaller side, but it was to be expected with this type of accommodation.
Super clean facilities, super comfy beds, good WiFi, friendly and helpful staff, easy to walk to tons of restaurants and shops. We stayed here a few different times as we traveled throughout Patagonia and were happy to return here! They kept our bags for us while we were in Torres del Paine and accommodated early departures and late arrivals. The shower pressure and hot water was great! I'd stay here again if I am lucky enough to go back to Puerto Natales.

Fantastic place - clean, great location and friendly owners. We stayed here on both sides of the W trek and they had our bags waiting in our room for us when we returned!

Fantastic stay. Everything was great. Mostly the owners who went above and beyond. Our rooms were set up nicely, it can be noisy since all the rooms enter in a common area so you can hear others, but the rooms were clean. Hot showers. Fresh breakfast, they even packed up to go breakfasts when we left early one day. Location was great, about 12 minute walk from the bus station, and a few blocks to the main area.

The hot water in the shower was not that hot.. no comfortable common area
Everything was very organized, the staff was friendly and the location is good. Comfortable bad and even a hairdryer! The breakfast was very good with a scrambled egg cooked especially for you :)

Maybe a chair in the room...
Hector and his wife are excellent hosts! They also make each guests breakfast or go bag, and the location is right at the very edge of the happening part of town! One or two blocks make easy walking, and quiet sleeping!

Nothnig. If you put 2 chairs to rooms will be more comfortable.
Everything was great. The hosts are taking care about guests and whole hostel which is the cleanest hostel in the world. Any time again in Puerto Natales always at Hostal Baquedano. Highly recommend !

There's very little sound isolation through the walls so keep that in mind if you're a light sleeper. However everyone was quiet at a reasonable time so this wasn't an issue for me
Owners are super friendly and loved that they provided a box breakfast if you had to leave earlier (also accomodated dietary preferences!) Room was comfortable and clean, no complaints

The proprietors, Hector and Saundra, were exceptional -- courteous, flexible, helpful. Above and beyond! The breakfast was great, and everything was spotless clean. i highly recommend!

The staff is amazing!!!! They did help me a lot to prepare my W treck. They keep your bags for free if you book 2 nights with them or ask for 10000 cpl. They do make sure to give you breakfast on the time you leave. You feel be part of their family !!! I do recommend 100%!

The location was very central, within a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The facility was very clean and the rooms were cleaned every day, not a level of atention we expected for a hostel. Finally the staff were wonderful. They went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. They were able to accomodate my dietary needs for breakfast. The gentleman at the front desk was always happy and his good mood was infectious. We would highly recommend this hostel.

They want cash, but are very picky they the notes be brand new. Once you get over that, it is a very pleasant stay.
Location is very good Between the bus station and centre, which is Very helpful when exhausted returning from Torres del Paine. Very clean, staff helpful, breakfast included, can order a packed breakfast for early starts. There is no kitchen for cooking but you can ask for hot water and use microwave.

Little bit expensive for a solo traveller.

The staff were incredibly helpful, going well beyond expectations, for example helping us navigate the Torres del Paine website to buy passes. The hostel is well situated in the old town and has all the facilities we needed.
