Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was a bit noisy but nothing too serious.
The staff was super friendly and helpful while giving put tips on how to navigate the city. The design of the hotel and rooms is great and overall quite clean. I thought the location was practical as well.

The historic lift is a beautiful feature of the hotel but people forget to close the gate and it then gets stuck where they left it. The restaurant was only on the rooftop which was cold in the evening.
The location was great just 15 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas, 10 minutes walk from the gallery. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Rooms were beautiful and well-fitted out. Great wifi. The restaurant food was delicious and well priced.

The location is not very attractive although it has some advantages given the proximity to the center and public means of transportation.
This hotel is a piece of art and heritage. A nice way to turn something old into something new while respecting it's original characteristics. So, the building itself has its own history. On top of that the staff was very helpful and kind, the breakfast offered a variety of products and the room always clean.

Front door is closed and you need to ring the bell to enter. Room was available at 2PM, which was a bit late for a flight that arrived at 7 AM.
The first room 404 had no view, the second room 302 had aview on the park / fountain. The layout of the second room was also nicer with beautiful wooden floors. Location is great, walking distance from most highlights in the city.

Excellent location and very helpful lovely staff. Fab roof terrace with mini pool for relaxing with a cold beer or cocktail after exploring the city.

The breakfast was good but too much sweet things on offer.
The rooms are incredibly spacious and well furnished. The bathtub and balcony were nice additions. The rooftop bar + swimmingpool were great. The building itself by renowned architect Luciano K is beautiful.

Bathroom could have been less worn out, update old fixtures and flooring. An electronic device went missing during our stay. Not sure how or when. Possibly on first day when our luggage was being held prior to check in.
The hotel provided a great buffet breakfast and on the morning we were checking out, they provided a nice plate of breakfast items for us to eat early before the start time for the buffet. Very accommodating of our early check out!

Decor, while fantastic, is a little tired. My room had a view of an internal shaft and no outdoors view - check this on booking. The shower was difficult to control for temperature. The breakfast was not very good.
Lovely Art Deco hotel - fantastic architecture. A very warm welcome from the receptionist who was hugely helpful (as were his colleagues throughout my stay); they even leant me electrical socket converters as mine did not fit. The roof top bar is the absolute highlight of this place - great bar, fantastic tapas food, lovely views and atmosphere; for me it was the perfect way to end my 5.5 week tour in Chile and Argentina. Great location with good restaurants and bars nearby. Huge and very comfortable bed.

We stayed twice in the same trip as the area is brilliant but we noted that they weren’t as clean as other places we stayed. The beds were clean, but the floors and surfaces were dirty. We did a quick wipe of the surfaces but obviously didn’t want to spend time cleaning the floor do wore the slippers they provided so all worked out fine.
Such a great location! It’s got a lovely rooftop bar (snd plunge pool we didn’t use). Staff are very lovely and helpful, and speak excellent English which was helpful as not many people do.
