Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

BrazilThe 1st room that we have stayed at was in an area within the lodge that is apart from the main-building (~100 meters), and is under remodeling. The path to get there is dark at night and with rocks in the floor that make it hard to carry your luggage. The room is really big, but the space is poorly used, with 3 beds in the same room and no place for hang your cloth or cabinets. The toilet is also big, but so big that you end up feeling cold during your shower. It was great if you need more privacy. Xialion, the property manager, immediately changed us for another room upon our request, and this one was perfect!
Amazing location, within a 2 min walk from the main street (Caracoles) and it is the same street where all the tours end-up. Another highlight is the staff manager, Xiaolin, who is extremely supportive and friendly, in addition of having 3 cute dogs! The rooms are comfortable, with decent shower and good beds (warms as well). Breakfast is another nice feature, with a wide variety of cookies, crackers, teas, coffees and breads - available 24 hours a day.

United KingdomNothing.
Brilliantly quirky hotel. Really big inside, with some lovely seating areas and a swimming pool hidden away. You can wander into the lovely breakfast area any time you like and help yourself to whatever you like - yoghurt and juice from the fridge, coffee, tea etc. My room was small but really nice. The hostess Xiaolin could not be more helpful, she's constantly rushing about taking care of the whole place, so you just use whatsapp if she's not there and you need something. The sort of place you could happily stay at for a long time. Also, the hotel dog (Pookie?) is fab. Quite slobbery though... ;)

United States of AmericaThe room is a bit small, but we didn’t spend much time there anyway. The pool could use some upkeep.
The location of this hotel is perfect for accessing the town and any tours. Quick and easy walk to tons of bars, restaurants, money exchange companies, and shops. The bed was comfortable and a portable fan/air conditioner kept us cool at night. Breakfast was also nice to have, with tons of options for non-dairy milk, granolas, and fruit. But the true gem of this place was the hostess, Xiaolin. I had read other reviews praising her, but only understood once we arrived how much she really does. She provided tons of guidance before we arrived by messaging on WhatsApp (in perfect English), gave us detailed and quality recommendations when we arrived, and was always responsive to our needs at all hours of the day, including an early check in and last-minute laundry. Not sure how she does it all! It seems like she runs the place single-handedly, and very well at that. Her help throughout the stay made it so much more enjoyable.

United States of AmericaSometimes a traveler is lucky enough to find a place where the hotel staff or manager treats you like a friend and invites you to make the hotel your home. For us, the Nueva Lodge was this place. Xiaolin, the manager, was so friendly and welcoming. She arranged all the details of our tours and followed up every day to make sure things were going smoothly. Xiaolin is the reason we chose this hotel and I’m so glad we did. She is a delight to talk to and she went out of her way to accommodate my husband who is gluten free. The location was perfect. Just a few minutes walk to the main pedestrian street but in a quick corner. We stayed in the family sized air conditioned room. The bed was comfortable, the room was great, and the shower was very large with plenty of hot water. The breakfast options are considerable — we had yogurt, fruit, and fresh bread daily, but Xiaolin would have made us eggs with ham, cheese, etc if we wanted. We had a wonderful stay here and would stay here again if ever in San Pedro.

CanadaWe visited in December and the evenings still stay quite hot until sunset so you may have some warmer sleeps!
The lodge is in a perfect central location for visiting San Pedro. Xiaolin was also incredibly helpful in our trip planning, she had many recommendations for us for places to see and where to eat, and she even booked our shuttle to/from the airport for us. You won’t meet a hotel manager better than Xiaolin! They also have a fantastic breakfast.

BrazilWhile my stay at Nueva Lodge Estación was overall delightful, a few areas for improvement could enhance the experience. I personally prefer cotton sheets over synthetic ones, and having a minibar in the room would be a convenient addition. Additionally, the option of a 'cleaning preference' card for the door would offer guests more control over their room maintenance. These suggestions, if addressed, could further elevate the comfort and customization of the stay.
Xiaolin's exceptional care and assistance made my stay unforgettable, from organizing a private Christmas tour to the Lascar volcano to accommodating my animal-based diet with a 24-hour breakfast tailored to my preferences. Nueva Lodge Estación offers a unique and personalized experience, with facilities well-suited for the Atacama region. Xiaolin's dedication to guests' needs adds an extra touch of warmth and comfort to the stay. From valuable insights about San Pedro de Atacama to the thoughtful adaptation to my dietary preferences, Xiaolin's attention to detail and the lodge's comfort make it a highly recommended choice for those seeking a complete and memorable Atacama experience.

Hong KongThe host Xiaolin is the best we have met. She is very responsive and arranged everything for us from airport transfer, all the tours, New Year Eve dinner booking and laundry etc. The room is very clean with comfortable beds. Location is amazing. All the tour drop off just a few meters away. A few mins walking to the main street for grocery and restaurants/bars. Nice plunge pool for children to have fun after tours. Kitchen is equipped with all sort of coffee, juice, cereals, breads, fruits, coffee and dairy stuff. Nice sitting areas indoor and outdoor. Our family absolutely enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back next time.

United KingdomAll was great.
Delightful stay in San Pedro de Atacama. I couldn’t be happier with my stay. Nueva Lodge Estación is very central, a couple of minutes walking to the main street where all the restaurants, stores, and travel agencies are in San Pedro, but very quiet, like an oasis in Atacama — a perfect place to rest after a day exploring the stunning Atacama. The guesthouse is beautiful. There are two swimming pools: a small one in the main courtyard, which is more for decoration, and a bigger one with pool chairs at the back of the building. The room was spacious, clean, and had a very comfortable bed with many pillows. But the best of Nueva Lodge Estación is its manager. She’s one of the friendliest hosts I’ve ever come across with. She will go far and beyond to make your visit to Atacama perfect. She organised all my tours according to my preferences and schedules, and they were all great. She recommended great restaurants. She takes care of the guesthouse and its garden with deep care. In the kitchen, you’ll find various types of coffee, tea, cookies, fruit, jams, bread and much more, all very organised, and you can go and serve yourself anytime you want, before breakfast is served. This is quite handy, because many of the tours in Atacama start very early (some at 05:00). Xiaolin can also recommend photography sessions. Ask her about her friend Pedro who does creative photo sessions at night with flashlights and the Milky Way in the background. I had a photo session with him and absolutely love the photos he took. This guesthouse became one of my favourites in the world… Thank you very much Xiaolin for helping make my days in Atacama so special. I hope to see you again one day 😊.

United States of AmericaNothing! Happy with our stay.
Amazing location. Walking distance to everything in town with easy parking. The owner Xiaolin was extremely responsive, so nice, and helped us with anything we needed. It was like having a friend I could text while in SPDA. We chose a room with an AC unit since we visited in the summer and it was the best value/location/hospitality we could have asked for. Also so nice to have a kitchen with snacks available all day.

United States of AmericaAir conditioning! This place is one of the few hotels that has air conditioning in some of their rooms. Definitely needed since this is a super hot and dry climate. Xiaolin was one of the best hosts that we have ever had. She went above and beyond. I was feeling sick and she went grocery shopping for some hot soup and noodles. She even made me some fried eggs to go into the soup. She was very responsive to all of our questions and very friendly. I can't recommend this place enough and most of it is due to her.

United States of AmericaThe rooms all vary a lot from each other, some of the build quality is so so (hooks falling out of wall, plumbing quirks, walls are thin etc). The best rooms I think are the larger ones in the back area with the mini split ac/heat units though there is some construction happening outside of those during the day.
Xiaolin, the hostess, is a literal angel! She speaks excellent English, gave great food recommendations, booked all our tours with the best companies, and our airport transport home. She provides fresh juice, eggs, bread salami/cheese for breakfast. Her communication on WhatsApp is unparalleled, I don’t think it ever took her more than 10 minutes to respond. The property has a very laidback homey vibe, the kitchen area is always open which is helpful because tours are at odd times sometimes, you can bring dishes to your room, get water and tea, snacks, throughout the day, etc. My partner became sick shortly after arriving in Atacama and Xiaolin made sure we had everything we needed and she made it easy to extend our stay. The property has two pools, we really enjoyed lounging at the back one in the hammocks with the waterfall feature in the shade of the tree. Location is very convenient as well. Very comfortable beds with lots of pillows and blankets. If anything is amiss Xiaolin will be sure to fix or find what you need if you let her know.
