Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceThat whilst they don’t accept dogs to stay the owners have a dog who rules the roost and also barks at men. The owners seem oblivious to its presence all around the hotel.
Love the history of the building and way it has been tastefully restored

United KingdomGreat location close to the centre of St Martin de Re. Secure parking and a lovely comfortable room. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was a buffet, a good selection of hot and cold food and pastries. Very pleasant bar serving a small selection of cold plates - charcuterie, cheese and smoked salmon. Good choice of wine. Lovely live jazz evening

FranceThe breakfast was great but thé croissant and pain au chocolat could have been fresh from the morning from a local bakery while they seemed to have been frozen. Fruit salad was ok but we were missing a bit of the great fresh fruit of the season

United KingdomWe found the lighting in our room poor (especially the bedside/reading lights).
It was our first first of Isle de Re and we found St Martin in particular absolutely charming and we will be back. The quality of the restaurants and shops was super - it was so nice going everywhere on a bicycle and not having to use the car. We had a super time and would thoroughly recommend to friends.

IrelandThey put our 2 rooms on the opposite side of the hotel, so our kids were a long way away. They blamed booking.com which is odd. We had to get the owners approval to turn on the towel rails in the bathroom. A fan was running all night the first night, but they did fix for our next 3 nights.
Great location, lovely old buildings. Super breakfast room manager.

United KingdomThe room we were shown to was completely unsuitable, with steep winding stairs from bedroom to bathroom. Extremely hazardous for anyone needing the bathroom at night. When asked for a change we were given a different room with an inflated price. If they had adhered to fine public relations it should have been the same price. The whole hotel was vastly overpriced for the facility offered. A comparable breakfast could be enjoyed sitting by the port at half the price they charged. There were no toiletries provided. 2 cookies provided on arrival were not replaced but the empty bag was just left on the tray all visit.
Very little.

United KingdomFor the price housekeeping / coffee machine would be expected. Tea or coffee was instant with dried milk powder. One bottle of water was provided on the first day only. We ate breakfast out as we thought it was overpriced.
Beautiful house and bar staff friendly. Great location near Saint Martin. Comfortable room. Lovely spot in the courtyard to have a drink.

United KingdomCould have been better in recommending restaurants. They booked one on our behalf for the night we arrived (which was kind) but it was empty, soulless and overly fancy.
Beautiful building, very peaceful, delicious breakfast. Good location for pottering into the town. Helpful staff on where to rent bikes etc.
